Exactly this. I’ve heard it’s from the way the tiles were designed to be perpendicular to the stairs instead of the ground that causes the disorientation. Whoever designed it like that is sick in the head.

That looks very similar to some new stations on London's Underground. The escalator at Angel is the longest, rising over 89 feet and they're over 200ft long. the only difference is (apart from the train cars, obviously) the stations in London are platforms in their own separate tube tunnels but here you have a large island platform in large space. Looks nice though. I 'll definitely have to visit NYC at some point in the future.

Interesting, in how vacant this escalator is, for a New York subway (this is New York, right? Shows how little I know). Pee Cee, were you using the GX85 as seen in your other videos? And what was the lens? Very sharp, and good to see not only your tips for photography, but your day-in-the-life type clips.
@peterc113646 жыл бұрын
Hi Stan, I was using the gx85 + 12-32mm kit lens. It was a perfect morning with overcast sky. Usually the images came out sharper with cloudy or after-rain skies in this case the terminal was well lit. For sharper processed video images, I always output the 4k, mp4 files with higher bitrate and quality. The file size would be greater, 17gig for this video, but KZbin did interpret it nicely. It was 8:30 Saturday morning. that's why looked empty and probably people party late Friday night in that yuppie neighborhood. Thanks for the kind words.
@peterc113646 жыл бұрын
I failed to mention that the image quality on this camera seems to be sharper and nicer under LED lightings than fluorescent lightings. Also, all the wide-angle shots were using the Yi4k action cam.

The designers oriented the tiles to be perpendicular to the stairs instead of perpendicular to the ground. This makes riders feel as if they are moving flat like on a moving side walk and that everybody else is either leaning forward or back. Its weird and scary!

@@strangelman If you ever get the chance to ride this particular one, it will feel like you’re standing at a diagonal (leaning forward/backward) depending on which way you go instead of standing straight up like you would on a normal escalator. The cause of this is because the diagonal placement of the tile walls tricks your brain into thinking you’re not standing straight, which gives you the feeling that you’re about to fall. The first time I rode it, I held very lightly onto the railing because I thought I was trippin
