I applaud Jirard’s ability to play this game as well as he is. He’s probably be even better if everyone wasn’t talking through the whole thing. I’m trying to tap along, and woof, it’s confusing. As a musician I feel like this would help with my coordination big time.

Kaizo Audio There have been a few rhythm games that are specifically designed to teach you to play an instrument. Rocksmith comes to mind, you can plug in an actual electric guitar to your computer to play it.

Meh, I don't thing it really would, while this isn't one to one but I did play the trumpet in High School and have played my fair share of rockband, it's just infinitely easier to always get every note right on an actual instrument than it is on a rhythm game, just reatcting to a moving thing and hitting at the exact right spot doesn't really feel like playing an instrument, you learn more by feel and just reading and as you read it, it becomes more and more like habit to hit the note when ever you see it. This might be a bit different for piano but as I said there is a difference.

My take on what happened: Dude and his violinist were dating. He ended up hating her music, and dumped+fired her. Overcome with distraught, she drowns herself at the docks, after saying she wanted to meet him so he'd be there. He can't save her, and ends up seeing and hearing her whenever the violin starts in any piece he's playing.

@JoseOJardineiro6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, all those 6 key pianos present in Chopin's work, clearly it wasn't dumbed down because it's a video game and it's the same thing as playing the actual score. Was this some half-assed attempt to name drop that you recognized a piece of classical music?
@JoseOJardineiro6 жыл бұрын
We get it, you know Chopin, doesn't change the fact that you're equating playing 6 keys to a piece of classical music. Multiple people praise Jirard's gameplay, none felt the need to say "Wow guys I recognized this piece of music, it's TOTALLY impressive that he played this" as if it's the same thing. Also, no need to type the Illiad at me, Homer.

Jirard, don't feel bad for not being able to complete Polonaise OP. 44, that's a Chopin piece. Polish virutoso Frederic Chopin is widely recognized as the greatest pianist of his generation, if not of all time. He wrote some of the most amazing and complex solo piano pieces ever. His songs have for generations been the litmus test for aspiring pianists. If you can properly perform a Chopin masterpiece you are truly an amazing pianist.

The problem here is that there ISN'T a story to be interested in. There's about as much information here as a random writing prompt. Like, literally, "A pianist is haunted by how things ended with his former partner. Also, there's a dock for some reason" That's it. That's not a story.

I remember watching Dodger play this on stream a while ago. It's an interesting concept for a game, but it does feel more like a game design school project than a "complete" game being sold on Steam. The fact that the end of story mode just loops without explanation is pretty poor design. Hell, even adding a little voice clip or splash screen saying "I won't let you leave!" would at least make it feel intentional instead of like a potential bug. It also doesn't really explain anything or go too deeply into the horror aspects, either. tl/dr; As a proof of concept for a game, this is good! As a finished product... not so much.

My theory Piano player has a cindituon called prefect pitch. Its where if the pitch isnt right while singing or playing it physically hurts them. It would explain why he has such a problem on himself thus him "losing it it" i think he killed a young lady who was playing the violin because she wasnt doing well thus making him lose it. And he is projecting the person he killed on the new lady. If you notice during the songs things started getting strange when the vilion came into the song
@polyjohn34256 жыл бұрын
Could be, would certainly fit some of the imagery, especially in the after screens. That takes a lot of assumptions, though, and unfortunately there just isn't enough in this game to really draw any meaningful conclusion. Also, a couple corrections. The condition/ability is usually referred to clinically as "Absolute Pitch" and it doesn't typically come with any sort of physical sensation associated with it, it's just an abnormal sensory skill. For it to be painful you'd also have to have some degree of synesthesia and some sort of somatoform disorder.
@patrickford1796 жыл бұрын
PolyJohn ahh well thats what my dad called it. He has the condition. Not sure really to what degree but he says that it causes him pain. Luckly I think im normal in that department tho it has shown up in my cousins.
@polyjohn34256 жыл бұрын
Well, that's a pretty impressive series of statistical unlikelihoods he has there. There is some hereditary factor to both, but synesthesia hits about 1 in 100 people, and Absolute Pitch hits about 1 in 10'000, so your dad is literally one in a million. Congratulate him for me.
@eheaton6136 жыл бұрын
The thing is i actually have "perfect pitch". I'm a singer and I actually understand this. If I am off it can give me bad headaches. When I am listening to other's perform (even if i have not heard the song before) I can hear all the off pitches. It wouldn't have put me to murder of course, but still it does effect me. Especially if I am performing.

"There's no way anyone's able to do this". Of course it is, this is a bit like playing piano with two hands with only 3 keys on each hand. Much easier to use one because then it's easier to focus, you just gotta learn using 2, and that takes a while. Even moreso in this case because it's like you're playing two melodies using both hands, and you'd usually use your non dominant hand for rhythm.
