That Michael Waltrip wreck was freaking insane. To this day, I think it's a miracle he came away from that one intact.

Crazy that him and Harmon survived that same crash.. still imo that bodine truck crash into the fence is still my scariest

The older the crash the more of a miracle it is because the less padding and protection they have from the impact

I remember when Mike hit the wall, they came up to him to do an interview when he was still on the golf cart and he said that The doctor said he has some contusions and he knows he has some confusions but he's okay... If I remember right, both incidences took place because somebody forgot to put the support at that gate back in place. That is the gate they bring the trucks into the racetrack. There's supports behind the guard rail that strength in the guardrail that allows it to take a heavy impact by cars. Both of Michaels and hermans came out the same problem. Some would have forgot to put the supports in place and nobody double checked it.

See Russel Phillips crash? Surprisingly it makes those two crashes seem like cake work. Can't believe they was allowed to race with no roll cage lol the fence literally ripped Russell to pieces

@@LexyThomas134 he had a roll cage, it's just they didn't really inspect those cars as good as the cup and Busch levels... so that cage was just really weak and couldn't withstand a hit like that

Jeff Fuller essentially sacrificed himself _(Not literally but you get my point)_ to spare Jason Leffler. The Leffler fan of my old racing group still hasn't forgotten that.

It was Geoff, you’re correct. And that Daytona crash was absolutely brutal. I saw that for the first time as a kid (it happened a few months before I was born) and even though I knew he was okay because I’d seen him racing in Cup I still couldn’t believe that he wasn’t more severely injured.

7:50 When Eric McClure crashed into the wall, a part from his car striked/pierced his heart, he never recovered fully and he died in 2021 from heart failure. The crash was started by Michael Annett, who tried to overtake Brad Keselowski, they crashed into Kevin Harvick, behind them other drivers tried to avoid the crash, Elliott Sadler unintentionally pushed Eric's car in front of Jeffrey Earnhardt's car, they crashed, spun off the track and crashed into the outside wall. 9 drivers was involved in that crash. So, Eric hitting the wall was Jeffrey Earnhardt's fault, because if he hadn't crashes into Eric's car, they both could have avoided hitting the wall. The Earnhardts are caused too many wrecks in NASCAR, two of them were fatal.

I was there for the Michael Waltrip wreck. No one expected him to walk away from that crash.

Austin Dillons crash where he just stopped and Elliott Sadler at Pocono...... ouch. I miss the element of danger in racing these days. Miss the concrete walls. Not saying I want anyone hurt but it made the drivers seem more like super heroes at times.

Jiimmy Horton Talladega over the wall flip and not 'Real" nascar race but Larry Pearson and Charlie Glotzbach 2010 Bristol Crash are other Scary Crashes

And to think there are men in this sport who had major wrecks before Earnhardt that were a lot worse and a higher impact and yet they walk away with minor injuries so that makes Earnhardt's wreck a little questionable and sketchy

It was the time it occurred. Hans devices were not mandatory at that time, on top of a concrete wall. Pretty scary during those times (it was also about a month after Adam Petty)
