@@ConanObrien22 There was an incident in a town called Chihuahua, in Mexico, it was part of an aero event. There where not even barriers, it was made in a portion of land next to a lake. The driver jump over a small hill and during the fall, he hit his head with de steering wheel, lossing control and driving straigh and over the audience, many people died that day. MY father is one of those inspectors that make sure things like this won´t happend again, he was furious that day because literally early in the morning he said, ¨if some king of crash happend, not even the ambulances would be able to drive to the zone, and then many hours latter, many people died. Saldy people prefer to learn from cathastophres, instead of just thinking before acting.

It's mostly metal tubes and fiberglass that gets lost. As long as the role cage isn't damaged and the engine still works it's not a big deal. It's factored in the cost. Half the price is just in those ginormous tires anyways.

Lots of these clips are extremely old looking by the quality. Monster trucks aren’t as popular as they used to be, but back in early 2000s I remember seeing a lot of this and battle bots during my kids years being raised by a southern father who was both a racing enthusiast and an engineer. The video quality on a lot of these are reminiscent of the shitty 144p color tv I had growing up before HD became a thing in like 2011

It’s majestic AF! Some of those are easily 40ft or more up in the air at their apex and ~some~ of them land so gracefully that you forget just how heavy they are (appx 12,000 lbs… my truck weighs just shy of 5,700 after small lift kit, slightly bigger tires and beefy aftermarket steel bumper) And these things are just reenforced rollcages, engines, tires and transmissions… imagine if they had real bodies like the OG ones did… prolly closer to 14,000 lbs

It’s just the way they are built it would be hard to make them hold together through all of that stress and they are made to break at a certain spot making it cheaper and easier to just quickly replace that piece that breaks and you can have a lot of those pieces ready

Yup thats why they do it. There was an incident in mexico that killed 8 people when a monster truck driver who was allegedly drunk drove thru the ground level stands. I believe he was prosecuted, but the event organizers wernt. Its on youtube, and you dont see any gore, but you definitely know people died

@@mushyzachman7731 oh yeah. Well along with the piece of fiberglass it was a piece of the chassis that fell off as well. So that is why they stopped his run. That is the same thing that happened to Bryce Kenny at world finals 20.

@@chocolate1donut the cheapest part is the frame and the plastic/metal cover those are expensive axels and wheels, but if you watch closely they spin and cause so much internal friction that it melts itself before breaking and hot metal breaks easily hard thing to fix

Dennis Anderson and Tom ments always sent it. They never took anything easy in freestyle. I recall one of them when they lost a wheel or 2, they were able to do a cyclone and drive around like that.

Monster jam pays for everything. The drivers are hired by monster jam to drive the trucks. I don’t think it cost the drivers anything.

I had that electric Bigfoot when I was a kid as wells. I swear that thing went faster than the cars my nieces and nephews have these days. I was driving up our porch steps, over these huge oak roots and chasing down my older sister. :D I think that thing would reach ten or fifteen mph without an issue.
