Surprising to see an abandoned building with power, and surprising that they didn't turn off the elevators when the building became abandoned.
@GaryBeltz7 жыл бұрын
They don't always turn things off when a building is abandoned either it costs too much or they keep power on so the lights can be used to discourage looters etc from going in. There is a video on here titled "Middle School Fire Alarm and the building is abandoned and the people filming said the alarm system had been going off for at least a few days and when the guy with the camera zooms in on a locked door you can see inside lights still on through the windows.

These are built by Siemens in 1970 and modernized in 1993 (to that epic motor sound) by ABB - ASEA Brown Boveri. I didn't get stuck in the elevator. i took it to the basement and there it stopped with the doors open. Something with the doors. After that I took another elevator up and we got into the machine room one floor above.

This elevator is a very not good elevator at all. In fact, it should be modernized into a Gen2 by OTIS. Then these things will definitely run far superior. I think the reason Alex got stuck in the elevator was because he farted in it. Lmao I love making these silly jokes

EPIC MOTOR! Heres why i think these things are Death traps: When they were installed/before the building got abandoned, they ran Excellently, but once the building was abandoned, the power was still on, but the parts got slowly looser and less stable (because they were not being maintained anymore), hence the shaking/Violent jolting of the cab, or maybe it was just a lazy/crappy install/Modernization for the bank you filmed, since you said the other elevator bank was fine, and also, @DieselDucy, were is the machine room video if you or Alex have one?

It sounds like (if the elevator is hydraulic), the pump is not supplying a sufficient amount of oil, or it's running out of oil. I am quite surprised that the fixtures are in excellent condition (let alone not looted)! I expected that someone would have looted or vandalized them by now. This is an awesome discovery! Don't tell the location of this building, since there are idiots who will try to loot or vandalize it. Anyways, great video! 😺👍

+JR Jackson it will take a while to edit as this place was huge and we spent about 4 hours here
@blueauraretriever7 жыл бұрын
Cool beans! I just edited 4 months of elevator videos from earlier this year including my 3 impulses from Florida & combined it into a gigantic 1 hour & 20 minute long movie & it took over 15 hours to produce. It took me on Sunday from the time I woke up to probably 1 hour before I went to bed (but I took 20 minute breaks in between each major sequence in the movie editing), then yesterday when I came home from school I was 90% finished so I spent the other six hours until I went to bed finishing the rest of the movie, then I watched the hour & 20 minute movie after it was done this morning processing & since it was free of 'out-of-the ordinary' content I uploaded it to KZbin. If it took me 15 hours just to edit over 40 minutes of elevator videos on a BASIC movie editing software, I could *only imagine* how long it would take you to edit a 4 hour long clip using your high tech advanced editing software. My prayers go out to Alex & I hope he safely escapes the stuck elevator. Have fun in Europe & hopefully you'll release one of your epic farts on the elevators... :) Best wishes go to you frirnd.

It sure is sad to see what I think was a nice building at one time become abandoned and decrepit. As with the elevator, those fixtures are really cool, since the floor indicator looks a lot like those square-lens Otis indicators, and the buttons look almost like a blend of Montgomery Vector and Kone Series-220 because of the green lights around the button rims (or maybe even Dover RimLite with green LED bulbs).
@upanddownadventures7 жыл бұрын
Never heard of Dover RimLite fixtures, what do they look like?
@CenTexElevators4897 жыл бұрын
Well, they were a very short lived fixture in the mid to late 90's, and utilized a stainless steel or bronze button with a square halo that illuminated red when pressed, similar to the square EPCO Inch-Line buttons. Additionally, Dover made the Twin-Lite button that was round and had two lights on the sides that illuminated green.
