The first story reminds me of the time my dad went hunting in the mountains in Virginia for deer. He hunts for meat not for sport. My dad also makes jerky out of it as well. Anyway my dad sees a buck and shoots the it and guts it and takes it home. The next day my dad goes to the same spot where he shot the deer because he was curious. When my dad gets there the gut pile is gone Until he sees the pile of deer guts underneath a pair of bushes. He thought that was weird but when he looked closer at the pile he noticed handprints around it and leaves covering it like someone was saving it for later. Then he goes around the bush and sees toothpicks on the other side at this point my dad pulls out his pistol While walking back to his truck Looking back to see if anyone is following him. He gets home tells me and my brothers and my mom about what he saw. The thing that freaked him out the most was the toothpicks. My dad never did go to that area in mountain again. The only thing my dad could think of who would do this would be a homeless person. This happened 12 or 11 years ago sometimes my dad will talk about it saying it's the weirdest thing to happen to him while hunting. He started calling his story the toothpick man. Sorry if this was all over the place i usually don't do this sort of thing but that first story reminded me of this take care and be careful.

I think I have an explanation,my grandfather likes to save the offal of animals that people have hunted for bait for things like muskrat and possums and other shit that would eat that disgusting meat,and the way he finds these piles for later when hopefully an animal is there,he hammers toothpicks into the side of a tree near the pile of guts because it’s easy to see and lets you know where it is,probably just another weird old guy hunting small game with a niche technique

That’s horrifying - I used to do a service project around the Appalachian mountains and was in West Virginia a lot - where we stayed was always at a school where we slept on cots and air mattresses but there was one that we stayed at that had another building that had the showers and supplies we used in it so we’d have to go all the way up a steep hill in the dark a lot of the time and we had to go in small groups naturally - and that building was horrifying - hadn’t been used in years and when you’d look out of the storage room windows you could see old abandoned toys on the “playground.” One of those things you stood or sat on while another kid held onto one of the railings and ran around spinning it - it was legit rusted over and the swings were overgrown with leaves and branches. And the basement - we were NEVER allowed down there but we could see down the steps because there was no door. But we all swore we saw a shadow of a woman and heard her down there. The light there flicked on whenever we saw “her” too. It was just… cool in a way and I actually sorta want to explore it but it for sure is haunted - we all stand by that. Even the “leaders” of the trip say the same exact thing. Sorry this is rambley but it’s 12:45 am and this just reminded me of it

2:29:49 Before she passed I always listened to my Grandmother's gut.. there were two instances where I didn't back when I was a teen & young adult & both times I went thru absolute hell so I started to listen to her when she'd look at with the most serious face & saying "I gotta be feeling" even later on I developed that gut intuition

Has Betterhelp actually gotten better?... I remember hearing a lot of negative reviews, issues and shady behaviour with them like how most of the therapists were actually unlicensed, didn't actually really help people who went to them, someone or some folks at the company created some site called Care dash and made profiles of actual practicing therapists who weren't associated in any way with them with their actual contact info to get people to sign up for it then deleted those therapist's profiles so they could refer them to their own staff of therapists. They have a lot of questionable stuff in their past and the most recent thing I heard was the FTC fined them 7.8 million as a partial fine as a result of them selling off their user's private information to other companies. Info that was supposed to be entirely confidential. And that was this year, not even 5 months ago, did the shady business practices and horrible treatment of people who went to Betterhelp just get forgotten in the past few months or something? I love the stories and realize sponsors are important for content creators to make money also, it just seems to me some research should go into who you're sending people to before you wholeheartedly trust them.
