Scary Stories - HOP-FROG by Edgar Allan Poe (ASMR friendly)

Having read 'The Raven' live for Hallowe'en, I thought it was high time to bring Poe back to the channel.
As I am writing this, I have worked worked twenty-one hours straight to get this one out on time! So, I hope you enjoy it. It would mean a lot to me if you could share it with your friends .

Thank you so much Merlin (my all-time favourite wizard). I was not familiar with it originally, so it was a gem for me. I think you may have guessed that I enjoyed playing the parts. Perhaps I was overly dramatic with Hop-Frog's final words...but that's me!

Never read nor heard this Poe tale before, but it's an excellent example of its kind, and especially these days it's gratifying to see such a fate befall such callous, criminal persons in power. Perhaps satisfaction isn't quite the right reaction for the Halloween episode, but I'll certainly not complain. Masterful narration and masterful editing as ever, (and a despicably catchy song at the end.)

Thank you again sir. Such silly little songs come out when I am recording and I become frustrated at the mistakes I make. One reaction is to produce a 'colourful oath' (which I don't like to do) and the other is to be silly, to reduce my tension. That one made me laugh - so I decided to share it. Heehee

Thought I was familiar with my weird brother Poe, yet every now and then he surprises me. For those who don't know, he is a son of Virginia but wasn't the Southern Gentleman! I lived in VA for sometime and considered it my home away from home. The Poe's home is now considered a historical whatyou might call it, and ever so often open for tours. Yes, I hv been in there but to my chagrin wasn't allowed to test the WC.🤣

Now, Poe's home sounds like some place worth a visit! I have a curious relationship with Poe on this channel. So far, the stories written by him have been among the lowest in audience reception. I find this a bit mind boggling. I am particularly sad that 'The Casque of Amontillado' went so badly, as I loooove that story. (Side note; if is the first story on the channel that I recorded a full Foley track for!)

Ahhhh... Revisiting this story after watching the new Netflix adaptation of the Fall of the House of Usher. As soon as I saw the familiar jester, it uhh... rang some bells. GET IT? But do you get it though
