The Boston Bruins have been looking to extend Jeremy Swayman since before the Linus Ullmark trade had happened however with a new MAJOR update from Frank Servalli, the Bruins and Jeremy Swayman are not close with a new extension leading many Bruins fans to worry about what may happen if they go to arbitration once again. Seems like this Swayman situation is destine to go to arbitration again and it seems like that's going to be ugly again. I said before trading Ullmark before you signed Swayman was dumb. If the result of this is he goes to arbitration gets 6 for 2 years what are the chances he ends up being your long term solution? Doesn't seem good to me. Clearly he values himself very highly and the team not as much. And this will be the last kick at the can in arbitration the contract after that is going to have to be done the old fashioned way. Spending the next two years with a guy who's likely not to resign with you at a number he's comfortable with while paying Korpisalo's cap dump is going to be a pretty rough couple of years.

Is it bad, though? Swayman agent is known for these types of tactics. Swayman took the Bruins to Arb last season, so technically, if the Bruins want, they can take him. A deal will get done, but at this point, someone needs to move the needle to get it done

I can't remember a time when the Bruins had bad goaltending for some reason they always seem to find a guy so if swayman walks I'm really not all that worried... 8 million is a lot to pay for a goalie

I’m a habs fan BTY ..the Bruins Fans have been spoon fed since the Sinden Years and gobble up whatever the current GM is spewing! The “Homer” announcers Cusick / Pearson era and the ridiculous recent Edward’s / Brickley tandem laughable!! But I have to say..the Boston Bruins organization knows how to interchange players regardless of talent to thrive in the regular season. 👍🏻 Unfortunately they are more concerned about beating a team up with their fists ( Curran,Blum, Markwart, Jonathan, Wensick etc .. )than on the scoreboard !Proving again in this years draft . Instead of picking a skilled talented player with their only first round pick they chose a “project” in Dean Letourneau. I’m not saying he won’t develop into an NHLer he’s a good kid and the Habs had him on their radar as a potential number two pick in the first round but traded up to get another quality prospect instead. The best teams usually win by developing their own talent . Sweeney keeps plugging holes every year through free agency, the lazy General Manager’s way! Overpaying Lindholm on term and dollars , Zadarov is a decent signing a bit much but that’s what you get with free agency( they’re not very Free! ) And how come no one is talking about Danton Heinen?He was a good all around player and great on the penalty kill.I do like reading some of the recent comments coming in lately by the Bruin followers to make management accountable gives me hope ha!.. Your team will be bigger but will they be better? I doubt it. The fan base was all giddy when you picked up Maroon , I was was happy too rooting against you! If he skated any slower he would be going backwards! And be careful with your praise for Brazeau .. if his footwork doesn’t improve he’ll be buried in the minors within a couple of years . I was impressed by Lehrei though,in the playoffs . Keep doing the same things over and over again and expect different results!!

We issued a offer today. Do we expect him to jump for joy with a low ball? He wants more. He will get it, calm down. The bruins will pay him. They're just doing what they do and trying to get him for cheap. We aren't going to arbitration because we can pay him, and he knows it. Calm down. Acting like we should've traded him.

Maybe they have spoken to him and told him they are going after Reinhart and need to dump a load of cash on him to get him. They say look, we will do a deal for X with you and rework the deal after we hit or miss on Reinhart. Swayman knows the team has a legit shot at a Cup in the next 3 yrs with Reinhart and Pasternak playing together and that benefits Swayman. It will be hard for the Bs to get to the Finals for a while if Reinhart resigns with the Panthers.

I believe the bruins defense made both goalies. I being a die never bruins fan would not mind low balling swayman. We picked him over ullmark cause he was younger and cheaper. Now he is not. I hope the bruins play hard ball with him and lets go korpasalo if he leaves!!

You always start low and then you find the middle where both sides are happy. I would have keep allmark over swayman. If he wants way too much money trade him he goes into losing streaks at the wrong times.

That's false. Orr wanted to sign with the Bruins for Life. The then Bruins ownership offered Orr a piece of the team(10-20%), but his crooked agent, Alan Eagleson didn't tell him about the Bruins offer and just wanted to collect his commission. Eagleson wouldn't have made a dime on the equity offer. This all came out in the trial against Eagleson some year years ago. Orr was surprised by that omission from someone that he thought was his friend that he could trust
