@@Vincebae00 I'll just copy my response to someone else's comment: "Easiest and safest way is to move the planchette to the "Good Bye" at the bottom, say "goodbye" aloud, and then remove the planchette completely from the board. Using a door metaphor, moving it to Good Bye and saying goodbye is like pushing a door completely shut so the latch actually clicks. Leaving the planchette on the board is like putting a door stop in a door jamb that keeps it from shutting completely. It's like leaving your own front door open. Nobody might come in, or someone with bad intentions could walk by and see it's open and decide to enter. Same thing with spirits and entities."

My gunny in ROTC told a story where he saw his marines playing with a Ouji board at a nuclear weapons storage facility. He scoffed at them and said, "If there was truly a spirit that was there, to show him by cutting off power to the facility." The lights then turned off. Needless to say he dragged the board to the garbage following the incident. This is an installation where the marines take the security of the facility the utmost seriousness above any others. I have no reason to believe the Gunny had any reason to lie about the incident.

I worked in a hospital lab on night shift. Every so often the automatic paper towel dispenser with spit out a towel or two without me even being near it. I always said "Why thank you" to it whenever it happened. We had our share of people die every week there. To me these were recently departed folks still wandering about trying to get attention. Nothing harmful, just wanted attention. Also, where I recently retired from, we had a patient who was the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. When he died, he came back to the floor to visit the nurses at night. He'd say hello by turning on a particular light by the nurses station. They'd say hi back. When they talked about it, it always brought a little tear to their eyes. He was such a good man.

Worked hospital security also, but it was after the hospital had closed down. Until the property was sold, we had to maintain a presence there 24 hours a day. I had the honor of being on night shift. It's amazing the sounds and movements that don't become obvious until the place is empty. Between the figures in windows, the lights turning on/off on their own, the shadows, and even the random phone calls from vacant offices that were nothing but static, I started believing in ghosts. I'm not sure what they ARE, but they definitely exist. I say that as a hardened skeptic, btw.

My first attempt at typing this story, my comment disappeared before I hit enter. I'll try again. At the age of 13, I had a Quija board. I convinced my new sister in law (she and my brother had only been married a few months) to give it a try. She asked it how long she would be married. It answered '4 years'. She laughed & said she hoped it would be longer than that. They were married on August 13. Four years later on August 20, she was killed in an automobile accident. I have always felt a tremendous amount of guilt through the years. That was in 1969.

Not military, but my uncle did tell me a story about using a Ouija board that freaked him out. It was the late 70s and he and some friends went to a graveyard to try the board. My uncle was a big Beatles fan and so he asked the board about if the Beatles would ever get back together. Apparently the board said 'no' and when they asked why, the board said 'shot' and when they asked for more details, it gave them what would turn out to be the date that John Lennon was eventually shot. At this point, he noticed three cats that were sitting and just watching their group and when he mentioned it to his friends, one of them freaked out and said they had to go. When they were back in the car and the friend calmed down enough to explain, the friend said that the grave right beside where they were sitting belonged to three brothers who had died in a mine accident so he was sure the cats were more than normal cats. My uncle does enjoy looking into things like UFOs, the paranormal, etc., but he doesn't usually make up stories, so take from this what you will.

@@jaydub7386 I’m a nurse of 40 ys & we see a lot! Don’t think ‘Lucy’ should be thought of so casually, spirits are real, the Bible says Satan is the prince of the power of the air…..this is his realm and his mission is to Steal, Kill, and Destroy, he is a Liar, and the father of it. He can appear as an Angel of light, leading people astray, Know your enemy because he certainly knows you. The Only Spirit you want inside of you or in your life is the Holy Spirit! He will never deceive you or lie to you. Except a man be born again, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God- John 3:3 It’s by grace, unmerited favor that we are saved, it’s not anything we can do but through faith you have a personal relationship with your almighty Creator. I was a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune and had an experience in the barracks with an ouija board. This is my experience. Myself and a group of guys were talking about the paranormal and decided to buy an ouija board. To cut this part short, most guys weren’t taking it seriously and were clearly moving the planchette themselves. But myself along with one other guys wanted to know if it truly worked or not. So we took the board to his room and swore to each other we wouldn’t move the planchette ourselves. Whether it worked or not, at least we would know the truth. We did the starting ritual and waited. Nothing for awhile. “Is anybody here with us?” Then it started to move, but verrrry slowly. Painfully slowly until it reached yes. We asked a few different questions but no response. So we said, “if you’re still here, tell us your name”. Very slowly it spelled ‘wikced’. Wicked we thought? But it’s spelled wrong. Later we found out on a new board it needs to build power and will spell words wrong, which convinces me the other guy wasn’t moving it, no way he would have known that and I obviously didn’t. So we then ask, “Can you tell us something about one of us so we know you’re really here with us?”. It moved to the letter U, but that was it. Okay?? A few more questions but no more responses, so we close the board. We’re confused on what it meant by the letter U. My buddy gets up, goes to the bathroom. When he comes out he says, “Dude, look at my shirt”, he was wearing an Indianapolis Colts shirt with the horseshoe on it…. Haven’t touched an ouija board since.

Never been military but i was graveyard shift security at a local hospital for a few years. Half of the hospital was new and the old half was recently locked up and abandoned. Both buildings were connected via a single locked corridor. All other doors were sealed off. Part of my duty was to make my rounds through the abandoned side of the complex every night. Every room. Every floor. Took alot of nerve to be honest as the place was terrifying at times. Especially since i was always alone and my radio never worked in that part of the complex. Are ghosts real? Absolutely. I had more experiences than most people will have in a lifetime in that place.

Nursing student here, I have an interest in things that are paranormal. Though I would never want to invite or aggrevate the "spirits," I can't help it, thinking my very interest (reading and KZbin, nothing further than that lol) in the paranormal/cryptids AND the fact that I'll be working in hospitals is enough to "invite" these experiences, or at least I'm just more aware? I'm not sure how to put it. No doubt, further into my career, I'll experience paranormal or unexplained events, and admittedly, I do want to experience something of that nature at least once (kind of contradicts my previous statement, doesn't it? lol). To add on as well, while most of my clinicals so far have been paranormally(?) uneventful. However, there are just certain times where you just feel this feeling of dread either doing your duties or when entering rooms idk.

During training back in 2014 at ground supply school in Camp Lejeune. I heard a Marine screaming bloody murder a floor below me. I chalked it up with Marines just doing dumb things, nothing unusual, and just fell back to sleep. The next day, after our classroom training. A formation was held by leadership explaining that a Marine woke up to a dark shadow hovering over him, and he screamed. His roommate and duty personnel had to calm him down, because he was too traumatized from the experience. So they then brought in the Chaplin to blessed the barracks, and they asked us if we saw or had a similar experience.

My dad is a rational, skeptical person for the most part. He has a bachelor of science degree & is a Royal Navy veteran who saw combat. But he has two things paranormal that he stands by as being real and something to be cautious of: one of those is Ouji boards; the other is how his grandmothers house was haunted. When I was a teenager, a friend's mother who I knew well and who has always been down to earth and honest, told us a a pretty full-on story about a seance she was part of in her 20s: the glass that the people were all touching began to move incredibly fast and even got hot. Somebody asked " is there an easier way to communicate?". The answer was "yes, but she is not ready yet". There was only one woman present. The woman thought to herself: "why aren't I ready?" and then immediately felt something pressing down down on her head. She looked at her friends who were frozen to the spot in fear until one of them managed to shout and kick the board over. And that seemed to change the atmosphere completely. Her friends said what had paralysed them was that when she had looked up somebody else's eyes were looking out at them. None of them ever did another seance. The woman was my friend's mother.

I’m a retired nurse of 40 yrs. When I was 13, I used to babysit for a couple that lived 3 houses down. The lady had bought a OUIJA board and we decided to’play’ with it. It was fun at first, I know I didn’t push the device and I know Linda didn’t either but you could see our fingers were barely touching it and it would squeak on the board as if someone would be pushing very hard on it! We both thought it was creepy but were intrigued. Oftentimes it would shoot towards the yes or no so fast that it make your body move forward. One night about 1 am we asked it something and Linda got very Stiff, her face became pale, she was staring straight ahead and she said loudly “I’m cold, I’m cold”, terrified, I put my hand under the board and sent it flying upwards, she shook her head and came out of the trance…..we were soooo scared we placed it outside the house. We didn’t want to break it as maybe it would release spirits, so I think we burned it. I became a born again Christian when I was 16 during the Jesus movement in the early 70’s and learned all about how real the spirit world is, it’s not a game and should be taken very seriously. Demons are disembodied spirits that want to inhabit YOU! They are in another dimension but can cross over, people think they are speaking with a deceased loved one, but it’s a Mimicking spirit, aka- a demon, that’s why they know what your mother wore when she was buried etc. wake up people, there is a war on for your eternal soul, Jesus Christ died for you on the cross, He shed His innocent blood to cover your sins, He paid your debt! He…is The way, The truth, and The life, no other “god” has given his life for their followers but Jesus because He loves us. Unless you’re Born Again or Saved, you Cannot enter the kingdom of God, period. You need to believe in your ❤ that Jesus died for you, shed His blood for you, rose again the 3rd day and sits on the right hand of God the Father in Heaven making intercession for you. Repent, and confess your sins to Him and He will wipe your life’s slate clean, He will remember your sins No More, no matter what you’ve done, you are Saved by Grace, which is unmerited favor, it’s a gift from God. You’re saved by faith in Jesus, not by works of righteousness, not by knocking on doors or doing community service. There’s a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun when you accept Christ as your personal Savior.

In 2012 when I was in SAC Company, waiting to be medically separated, we saw some weird stuff in the barracks. The people using the ouija claimed they never saw anything. Other barracks halls were experiencing all kinds of stuff. Everyone was constantly reporting the stuff that would happen. The people on fire watch would wake everyone up when the things would show up. We would all stand on the opposite side of the barracks hall and watch it until it left. We would hear crap talking in weird languages over our headphones. That was 2012 on camp Lejeune. Some people who had been there before me said they had witnessed alot of bad stuff. There were a lot of shadow people and the same grey lady. The grey lady crawled around the barracks. I personally saw her multiple times. The grey ghost lady you mention in the barracks is said to be the ghost of a 1arm hooker who had a permanent residence at the triangle inn but would mainly slime her way through the barracks rooms of lonely unsuspecting boots from Ohio from Friday to Wednesday (… as long as she’s out before SSgt comes through to inspect tomorrow morning.”)She tragically drowned in a mud wrestling match at the Dirtwood because she couldn’t tap out. This lovely lady of the night is said to haunt the barracks on all of Camp Lejeune desperately seeking one more paycheck to spend. On a serious not, my roommate and I used go to the Court House Bay gym because it wasn’t packed like all the other ones. I got out in march 2013, never heard any got dang scuttle butt about it. Definitely believe it because generally, people don’t like talking about experiences they were deathly afraid of and don’t understand. There was most likely an unspoken understanding amongst everyone involved that you just don’t talk about it.

Only ghost story I have is back when I was living in my fraternity house which was off campus. Supposedly the house was transported from downtown ybor, near Tampa, and the lady who owned it hung herself after finding out her husband was cheating on her. Some of the older brothers had told me some stories of strange happenings in the house but I never really fully believed it. Well as it turned out, I found out my gf at the time had cheated on me and I was sitting there crying bc I really liked her (looking back, good riddance, man she was a handful). Out of nowhere I just felt a hand firmly placed on my back/shoulder area for a few seconds, like someone would do when they’re consoling you. I thought I was losing it at first until I remembered the backstory of the house. Maybe she felt pity for me, idk. Haven’t really told anyone about the hand on my back part before but yeah, I’m a bit less skeptical now.

I've only been firmly touched in support. Always consensual. Always when I really needed it. I knew who he was and appreciated the support, even from beyond the grave. He would stroke my long hair, or put a hand on my shoulder. He sat on my bed one night while I lay awake pondering my life. So I told him all about my problems. Actually, that haunted apartment had the best room mate I've ever had. I verbally asked him not to do things to frighten me, that I was aware he was present and had no real problem with that. The dishes stopped flying. All activities....with the exception of respectful room entering and touching, stopped. Two young gentlemen I was considering dating visited me at my home....both of whom he RUSHED AT and scared them within an inch of their life. In retrospect, he knew things I did not know until later. He was right. I was an art student and he seemed quite taken with painting and classical music. He frequently watched me work. I put on the music for him, once I realized he seemed to enjoy it. Don't knock ghosts, they CAN be better friends than living people.

As for hospitals being haunted. I live in Argentina, and I've got a friend who works at the local hospital. Most of these were built in the 40's or 50's and are massive buildings with undeground rooms for infrastructure or x-rays. Apparently the hospital he works at has an entire ward that is haunted. If I recall correctly it used to be the psychiatric ward, and then it was simply abandoned. Nurses, security guards, janitorial staff, all have reported hearing and seeing things. Pounding from inside the former cells/rooms, doors being open and closed by apparently nobody, distant voices. So yeah, apparently hospitals, especially those abandoned or with abandoned parts appear to be quite the hotspot for the paranormal.

Former Marine here. Yeah, there were all sorts of urban legends about "this Marine years ago...". They were very common, and since Marines moved around a lot, never verifiable. For instance, at A School, which is where Marines go to learn their MOS, these kinds of stories very common. I think they were used by higher-ranked Marines to keep the younger and more impressionable Marines in line. It didn't help that a lot of the buildings on Marine bases dated back to the 1960s, so they were often decrepit and creepy. I remember one story about a barracks that wasn't being used at the time, so it was always just locked up. The story goes that the reason it isn't used anymore is because a Marine was found dead in their barracks room in that building. On the tile floor of their room was etched a pentagram. To cover it up, they quickly had the whole barracks carpeted, and changed all the room numbers. Also, stories about failed suicide attempts were also common. One such story was about a Marine and a floor buffer. You spend about half of your time in the Marines cleaning. Yeah, cleaning. The story goes that this one Marine had had enough, and decided to end it all, while he was buffing a floor with a floor buffer. Floor buffers are like large, heavy, metal vacuum cleaners. This Marine was on the second or third floor of this building, and just wrapped the cord of the floor buffer around his neck, and threw the floor buffer out the window. The Marine expected the weight and force would kill him instantly, or plunge him to his death. To his surprise, nothing happened. This is because, on military bases, electrical outlets are always ten feet apart from each other, and, ironically, the cord on a floor buffer is notoriously long - like fifty feet. So, the Marine, instead of successfully killing himself, was cited for destruction of government property, and punished. There were many others, but this post is already too long.

The child running through the wall reminds me of something i saw when i was young. I havent really told people about this except my parents when it happened, because I dont even really belive in the paranormal, but this is what happened. My mom was in the shower in her room. I wanted something from her so i was sitting outside her door in the hallway, facing my room down the hall. The hall light was on and i was the only one upstairs besides my mom who was in the shower. I was looking at my room which has the door open when all the sudden i see a a ghostly woman wearing a white dress with a floral pattern on it appear in the door, look at me, then step through the wall into where my sisters room is. It freaked me out and i ran downstairs to my dad who was watching tv. I explained what i saw to him, and later my mom, and they both seemed a little shocked. My mom said my grandmother, her mom, was put to rest in a white floral dress. Im not sure what i saw or if i imagined it, but its a core memory for me.

I'm a Marine. I was stationed at Lejeune. 2nd Marines, my barracks were on the same street as the base theater. I never saw anything supernatural there. Of course, I was either in the field or drunk so I may have missed something lol. But I am a nurse now. Saw what I am absolutely positive was the spirit of a WWII Combat veteran who passed away on my NOC (overnight) shift. I saw it, I didn't say anything as I wasn't sure if what I was seeing was real, I was tired, it was about 3:30-4:00 am. But the other 2 nurses sitting at he Nurses Station with me saw it. The Charge Nurse, who was close to retirement (she was about 70 years old) was leaning back in her chair, fingers interlocked behind her head as she watched it go down the hall. Just a light really. She looked at me with the kindest smile I've ever seen and said "I think our friend Eddy just passed." I looked at her with my eyes wide open (I wasn't scared, just stunned) and asked "Was that?????...What was that?!?!" She smiled again and said "I think that was Eddy, sweetheart." We both got up and went to his room, I had to know now. There was another Nurse, who was particularly fond of him, sitting with him (we were expecting him to go that night or the next day) holding his hand, saying a prayer with tears in her eyes (we all loved Eddy). Eddy had no children, he suffered some awful injuries fighting in the Pacific that left him infertile, but he lead a good, full life with his loving wife, Betty who he missed dearly. The Charge nurse gently knocked on the door as to not startle her. She started to tell us Eddy was gone but the charge just said softly "We know honey. We saw him leave." And she put her hand on his forehead and said "Oh Eddy you sweet man, the battles over love, we're going to miss you so much." I never cry, but I came pretty close when she said that. I went back to the nurses stationed and the other nurse still sitting there just kept doing her notes. She asked me if I was alright. I was, then she smiled, and said "I think we just saw him and Betty walking out of here together. I think he was pretty thrilled to see her again. Probably why it was so peaceful for while there." And I almost cried again! WTH! I NEVER cry, but the thought of Betty coming to get take him home, combined with the warmth these women showed him. It was a little overwhelming. Caught me off guard. Anyhow, no sooner did she say that then all the call lights started again, which is constant and normal any given night, and we had to get back to work. I talked to the Charge about that night on a different shift and she said she had seen a lot of people pass away in her 50 years as a nurse. Sometimes she sees things like that, other times she doesn't but every time she had, it was always just seconds after someone on the unit had passed away. I believe her.

I didn't personally experience this, but I've got a story about barracks ghosts. I was 11B Infantry on Ft. Lewis, WA for my second duty station. We were in 5th BDE, 2ID. I'd been promoted to E-5 by that point, and had a few guys under me. I lived off post, and most of my guys were single and lived in the new barracks on north fort. By then the Army had started testing out that program where there was a civilian company in charge of the barracks, with a liaison for each unit. Some of my guys got paired with joes from other units which as far as I remember usually wouldn't happen before this program. These were nice new barracks, with a shared kitchen and bathroom, but separate, lockable rooms with doors into the kitchen area. I might be remembering the details wrong (this was over 15 years ago), but I think the story went that some private had bought a handgun off post and snuck it back into his barracks room. I don't know what he was going through, but the kid ended up offing himself in his room. One of my Specialists was moved into the adjacent room some time later. Keep in mind, our unit didn't have key access to the rooms, you had to go through the barracks company liaison for anything like that. The room that the kid killed himself in was locked and inaccessible by my joe or anyone else in our unit. He said that he'd come home after duty hours and see that the light in that room had switched itself on, which he could see underneath the door crack. It would switch on and off even when he was there, and he would hear footsteps in the room, and even the shadow of someone walking in that room. I think eventually he was paired up with one of my other guys and moved to a different room. Not a very climactic story, but I did trust that he was telling me the truth when he told it to me. A young joe for sure killed themselves in that room though, I remember hearing about it when it happened.

I have a ouji board incident that will make your skin crawl. It wasn't military related but it's blood curdling none the less. When I was in highschool my friend's sister attended a sleepover where the girls used a ouji board to attempt to summon a spirit. There were eight girls including my buddy's sister and she's the one who told us about what transpired. The night apparently began like most teenager slumber parties with girls putting makeup on each other and talking about boys and whatnot. At some point the girl who's house it was said let's get out the ouji board so they all gathered around it and tried to reach someone. For a while nothing happens so five of the girls got bored and went back to doing clothes and makeup. The three remaining girls in the other room still kept attempting to contact a spirit and eventually they did. They asked this spirit who it was and it played with them answering questions with more questions. It appeared to be pretty quick whitted. At one point it did give the girls it's name which it spelled out on the board as D A G O N in all caps. The girls kind of started messing with it saying what kinda of creeper name is that? And laughing too jeering at this entity. Bad idea because that was when my friend's sister said everything suddenly took a very dark turn. The girls asked it why are you here and it responded with the name of one of the girls in the room putting on makeup. We'll call her Kelly. They asked what do you want with her? It responded to FU¢K her. Over and over that's all it would spell out. That's when they started getting scared and closed the board without ending the session. They tossed the board aside and went in the other room and told the other girls very little about what happened just something about a weird spirit that said some foul things when questioned. As the night went on they all went to sleep and at some point the girl Kelly woke up and felt an extreme cramping sensation in her stomach so she went to the bathroom. When she turned on the bathroom light they said she let out a scream that woke everyone including the mom of the girl who's house it was. Kelly looked down to see her legs covered in blood and she was bleeding profusely from you know where. The mom helped her wash up and immediately took her to the hospital. My friend's sister said that Kelly's mom met them there and was told Kelly was most likely experiencing an unusually heavy menstrual cycle but Kelly told them that wasn't so possible because she had her cycle earlier in the month. Anyway she was fine afterwards but the mom of the girl holding the party made her throw out the ouji board. My friend's sister only told us the story after we really pried her about what happened because rumors were flying around the school. That was when she very reluctantly told us.

We tried playing this board while in high school. Four of us created the board from copy paper and used a clear plastic piece. At first nothing happened but after a few questions the piece started moving by itself. Everyone said they were not moving it. So we all stopped because we freaked out. Soon as we threw the paper away the phone rang and on the other end was loud heavy metal music that's it. It happened twice. So we took if off the hook. Suddenly an end table lamp turned on by itself. We disconnected it and just sat there looking at each other bewildered. Then the lamp turned on by itself again. That's when we bolted from the apartment. Never tried it again.

I built a board when I was 12, a pretty little thing, and as the glues and decorations were drying, I thought I would use the board the next morning once its dry. That night I had the most terrifying nightmare, woke up completely drenched in sweat. I dreamt that I used the board as planned in the morning, basically dreaming into the future, and all hell broke loose in my house after using it. There were fights, arguments, tears, exhaustion in my family because of it until we eventually had to pack up and leave....then I woke up. Threw the damn thing out. was attacked and paralyzed by a shadowy figure while in the air force in 1988. I was stationed at Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda MI at the time. I was going through a very dark time when it happened. After drifting off to sleep one night I awoke under what was an extreme weight crushing my body and terror I've never experienced before. I couldn't move anything or even blink i was completely without out strength to move anything. I was barely able to think and call out to Jesus but when I was able to call out to Jesus in my mind that thing immediately released. It was a long shadowy figure that shot up to the corner of my wall and disappeared. These things do happen so try to understand when someone comes forth their experience concerning this. Not everyone is crazy.

@@pauulkubasek1815doesn’t negate the fact that it was a demon, it’s funny that they try to explain it away with science when people are literally experiencing entities attacking them physically. I had a similar incident when I was around the age of 7 which traumatized me for years and years, basically I had bunk beds and one night I found myself unable to sleep, so I started to focus on the pattern which was above me since I was on the bottom bunk. After a while I sat up, I don’t recall if it was for a noise or what but I got up and what I saw was a pitch black outline of a person climbing from the end of my bed into where I was, but I was instantly paralyzed and I remember being choked by this thing even though it wasn’t even that close. I tried to scream, and finally I got a scream out and it disappeared, my mom came rushing in and comforted me. I was traumatized for many years into my teens and refused to sleep without a cover over my head because of the incident. The strange thing was that I was initially able to move but when I saw that thing, I just froze, I had to be taken to “witch doctors” after that who tried to remove the negative energy because I was having a lot of problems back then. I now realize that those “doctors” were probably making it much worse since you can’t fight evil with evil and that stuff they did was certainly some kind of witchcraft, from what I recall they rubbed an egg onto my body and it was excruciating but when I talked to mom abt it recently she said it was just a normal egg. I remember it being very agonizing but according to her it was just an egg rubbed on my body and broken after

I was assigned to a Motor pool as a ULLS/PLL clerk and Vehicle dispatcher in a HHC in Fort Bragg NC back in the late 90s as young fresh faced PFC. The building was an old WW2 motor pool. In that old motor pool we used to have a lot of weird stuff go on, from lights turning on at night when no one was there, Impact tools going off with no one around, shadows passing In front of my dispatch window, disembodied voices, and one the mechanics saw a full body apparition walk through the vehicle bay and out the door to the vehicle line he told us that he followed it out the door asking who he was with no answer and as the apparition walked out the back door it was gone. We were eventually moved to a brand new motor pool building, as we were moving out the old building my motor Sgt wanted to take some old framed WW2 posters sitting on the walls of the walls of the tool cage, that had been there for decades I'm guessing, as we brought one down off the wall we found a hand drawn ouija board on the backing of one of the frames, and the other two had pentagrams and satanic symbols (guessing they are since I'm not into the stuff) drawn in the back, let's just say it answered a lot of questions about the stuff that went on, suffice it to say we just left them in the building when we left.

Thanks for sharing your bro's hospital ghost stories. I worked as a security guard in a hospital for 2 years and we got some of the same stories about a kid or elderly person being where they shouldn't be. checked, nothing, checked cctv nothing. I myself have been creeped out just doing a ward check in ICU and Oncology after hearing someone telling me to "F*** off" several times, the loudest time it did that I told it under my breath "Just doing my job, see you in 4 hours" there were no awake patients or nurses at the station where we mark our check time down. I told the head of my team he just went "I'm going to grab a coffee and have a smoke you should come for a walk." He told me he had ended up shadow chasing in a locked ward a few times, and now he assigns others to check, my reaction was "gee thanks" XDDD

The only barrack’s “ghost story”. I can recall was as a CPL we only had two to a room, and one weekend during 4 day liberty, my roommate left Friday night to go home in TX. We were stationed in 29 Palms., CA. On Sat, the next day, I had gotten back from the gym in the morning, showered, and laid down on the rack late morning, as I was dozing off, I heard my barrack’s door open up (my bed was closest to the door. I saw my roommate walk in as I was peeping through my eyelids, walk across the foot of my bed, and he sat down on his bed. I heard the springs of his rack move. As I was wondering why he had returned so early, I shot up from my bed and turned my head to his direction and no one was there. To this day I don’t have an explanation for it. I wasn’t fully asleep, and I don’t recall ever being paralyzed or anything like that. When he got back, I told him about and after asking if he ever got back on Saturday, after answering no, he gave me shit about it, but it became a running joke between us. That would have been Memorial Day weekend in 1997 I believe.

Me and my best friend were playing with a Ouija board at a party. There were 3 guys standing next to us talking shit about how fake it is, and they obviously pissed it off, the planchet started moving so fast that me and my best friend could barely keep our hands on it. I looked at her and silently mouthed the words, "on the count of 3 - let go". She nodded and understood me. I then silently again mouthed "one, two, three". We both picked up our hands at the same time, no longer touching the planchet and it continued to make an entire figure 8 with no one touching it! The guys and us all screamed out and ran away from it! Those are very real and powerful things, I recommend never touching one.

Twice all of the wall lockers in 1 particular room were dumped in out in the floor. We just thought one of the NCOs did it because the guys in that room left their wall locker unlocked. But the NCOs swore that none of them owned up to it. There was a big stink about it. There were a couple of times the door to the head in my room opened or closed on its own. Was at my half-brother's place decades ago (I just turned 29, I think I was maybe 6). My half brother's daughter was playing with a ouija board along with my other cousin. My brother and I were there too because to us it was a new boardgame and the girl and boy cousins were the only people our age, even if they were 5+ years older. I don't remember a lot of what happened, but I remember the girl leading the whole thing, asking questions and what not. The planchette was black plastic with a cheap transparent plastic dome over the hole. I grew bored of the game because it didn't make sense to me and I never got to ask any questions, which was probably a good thing. After I had stopped a short while kater lunch was called or maybe dinner. As we all left the board on the living room table and went into the kitchen the table under the board collapsed. This was a solid wooden table, not a fancy one, but one built for function and was robust. I don't know how much force you would need to snap the legs from downward pressure, but for reference my half-brother had used it for years and I'm sure he's stood on it to change the lightbulbs in the ceiling fan. We're talking about hundreds of pounds of immediate downward pressure. No 80 pound girl or 60 pound twins or 100 pound boy is breaking that table with their hands, especially after we had all departed from the table.

The one about the Gunny Sgt. who kept finding the ouiji board on his desk reminds me of a story my mother told me when she was a teenager. Her and a couple friends were "playing" with a ouiji board one night. They finished when some odd stuff started happening and she threw the board away. The next day when she woke up the board was on the floor by her bed. She threw it away again, and the next day it returned. She burned it in the fireplace. And the next day it was back in her room with a bit of charring on one of the edges. She was never able to get rid of it and still has it to this day locked up in her attic.

Story 1: I've lived close to Camp Lejeune my entire life. When I was a kid the military would let people cut through as a really nice shortcut! After 9/11 that of course ended. But I have a clear memory of going through with my mom one time. We were on our way to get a black lab puppy, when we told the entry guards where and what we were doing they told us we have to come back through the base on the way home so they could see the puppy. We did of course anything to make their lives even a little better. Y'all should've seen it four servicemen sitting Indian style with knees touching while our black lab puppy ran around in the middle! It was awesome we hung out with them for a little over an hour. A few more came by and played too. It felt good on the way home since I was a kid I wanted to be a soldier from then on. My path took a very different course, even though I tried every single recruiter I had some criminal issues to deal with so I was denied. But I will always remember that day! Thank you for your service to all of our military men and women (only 2) who see this. You're The "Real American Heros"!

I have 2 siblings - one is a doctor and the other a nurse. Years after they had graduated from their respective schools and working as a doctor and nurse, we had gotten together in sort of an ad hoc family reunion. Since we lived in different states and rarely see each other we stayed up late into the night talking and catching up. Somehow we got on the subject of the supernatural and my brother the doctor told about an incident in medical school when he was pulling the late night shift after a grueling day shift at a hospital in what they call "duty hours" which could be as long as 80 hours/week and that is with the new limitation which did not exist when he was in medical school. He had just finished a night check on a patient when the tv in the patient's room that was off suddenly turned on then off, repeatedly. It started slowly at first then sped up and suddenly as it had began it stopped and within seconds the patient's cardiac monitor alarm went off signaling his heart had stopped and a code blue situation had occurred. But that was not the only weird part. When he finished his story, our sister's face turned pale and she shivered. I thought she was just reacting to our brother's story, but it turned out she had experienced the very same thing while in nursing school - they also have "duty hours".

2841, E4 from 2nd Maintenance Battalion, now out of service. When I was a lance corporal a couple years ago I started a tradition in the FC-64 (French Creek) barracks of a strange-happenings log in a folder at the duty desk. Not sure if it's still there since I left (but it was as long as I was in the unit). It started in October and happened for a few days before most of the barracks duty looked at it and just thought they were cool ghost stories. But then unknowingly everyone else when I was on duty (since I loved volunteering for it, it got me the hell out of work), would tell me of freaky shit that happened in the barracks I never got to see. Lights turning on or off on their own, doors opening and closing. Or shit just getting flung from their desks. Pretty wild. We heard rumors three something people died there and an instance of one guy who was a straight satanist. I never laid eyes on it besides the whack-ass stuff so my assumption is maybe.

I don’t think Ouija boards were a thing then. Later in life I was a military chaplain at Fort Sill. Some of the Marine officers who lived in quarters on the Old Post Quad told about eerie sightings (Ouija boards not involved). A fellow I was seeing in Wichita Falls, TX, was also a Marine veteran and had been an MP at Camp Lejeune in the 1980s. This sounds like the story of the Air Force NCOs stationed in West Germany that got into a ton of trouble when they went AWOL after spending considerable time communicating with an entity on the Ouija board that began telling them something dangerous was coming and they needed to flee. What they were afraid of was never revealed but for some odd reason they all got off with a simple slap on the wrist and it was all covered up. This was in the late 80s or early 90s I think.

He thought it was his cat but it kept making that plastic bag moving sound, but louder, right outside his door. It cracked opened the door and hoovered into his room. Still making noise. He said he could make out a skinny tall, black figure as tall as the door frame. It approached him and when it got close he closed his eyes in fear. He couldmt move because he said he was stiff with fear. He said it stood by his bed for about a minute and went out and closed the door. He kept his eyes closed because he said if he saw it he would freak out. Weird this his grandma was on the living room couch and didnt bother her.Foegot to mention but the plastic bag sound was coming from its head apparently. Or somewhere up there. Back in 1973-ish, I was 8 years old & my older brother was 11. He was (no pun intended) hell-bent on getting a Ouija Board. My mother found out his wishes to do do & they argued for a while about it. She ultimately told him he was forbidden from EVER bringing a Ouija Board into her home. This was the early 70's and we lived out in the country, so going to the store was a rather infrequent event. A few weeks later, my brother was visiting with cousins & he got a cousin to buy one for him & bring it over. My brother was showing me his new Ouija Board, pulling it out of the box and running the planchette around on it. I began chastising him for having it, going on and on about how Mom was gonna kill him. He kept saying it was just a game. We got into a rather loud argument about it and we moved about the room while doing so. While my brother was in a rather long rant about it being harmless, the planchette rose into the air about 6 inches above the board and then flew right at me. It missed me by inches and crashed into the bedroom wall behind me. Both my brother & I freaked. He gathered up the board and ran outside and stuffed it into the bottom of a trash can we used to burn paper & scrap waste. My brother NEVER EVER discussed this afterwards. I terrified him. I, on the other hand was somewhat proud of being proven right. You don't mess with things you don't understand.

It’s weird that God has allowed these ‘games’ to be so effective for evil. I guess when we go looking for evil - the opportunity will present itself. I’m proud if you too- & I don’t even know ow you! But it’s refreshing that someone actually stuck up for mom.

@@eas8898 Actually, it made me mad. I had red hair as a kid and had a bit of a temper. It never took much to get me pissed off. My brother always thought it was funny to pick on me to get me mad, until the day I stabbed him with a pencil. It hit a rib & about an inch of it broke it off in his back. Funny, he never picked on me again. Lol

Fun fact: the preist that the movie "the exorcist" was based off of was the late Father Malachai Martin. You can find his books (one of which is "Hostage to the Devil") and listen to interviews (Coast to Coast AM is a great place to start) for more information about demons and posession.

Using Ouija Boards.....Always, without exception a very bad idea! Good Lord people need to knock it off with these things. These boards are nothing but an invitation to fuck around and find out.
