Canadian/Scotsman Johnny Reid and Jimmy could do a great version of Mustang Sally..It was a awesome experience living in Australia in the 90's. Listening to Jimmy's music added to the event. Thanks the post of 60 Minutes good to see things going well for him and his family.

I recently saw Jimmy and Joe Bonamassa doing a cover of Deep Purple's Lazy from their Machine Head album. As a fan of Deep Purple since about 1970 I have to honestly say that Jimmy sings the song miles better than Gillan even when he was in his prime.

He caught my attention in the "Big Enough" video. I've been looking at old music videos and I really like his voice (didn't realize he sang with Tina Turner in "Simply The Best" either! He has a rod stewart, mellencamp, springsteen, hard rock vibe that I really like. I agree with you completely about Americans needing to discover his music.

"Belting out hits from the early 70's"? (This is at the 18 second mark of this "profile" SPOILER ALERT - Jimmy Barnes didn't have hits in the early 70's).
@musicmadinoz6 жыл бұрын
That is true, as a solo artist, but lets look at Cold Chisel. They played live mid 70's, but didn't release any albums/singles till 1978, surprisingly Khe Sahn only got to #40 in the charts though. Cheap Wine in 1980 was their first top ten entry at #8. So really, you are correct on calling BS on 60 Minutes ;)

Janelle W of course! I’d like to point out that Jane and Jimmy have one thing in common- They each have a step dad who loved them more than than their real dad. Jane’s stepdad married her mom and accepted the 3 kids, showed them love etc. Jimmy’s step dad did the same thing. Perhaps this explains how she can be so accepting of Jimmy’s other kids.
