I'm going to ask a complete noob question here. I want to put the system on a centrefire bolt action rifle. What is to stop the shot registering in the sound of the bolt closing rather than the firing pin/striker dropping?

Hi Chris, the question is actually on the point because in dry-fire mode the system doesn't indeed differentiate automatically between these two actions. However, the vibration and sound from these two actions are not identical, and you can adjust the threshold for vibration and sound so that the system would register one and ignore the other. Also, in most cases the shooters' aimpoint is not exactly on the target when operating the bolt and the SCATT doesn't register the shot if the aimpoint is outside of the target area.

I’m having the problem where when shooting on the black target just before going into training, the shot is not registering. (note: the SCATT is centred with the preview setting and sensitivity is adjusted correctly). What could be the issue to this?

Can I use this when firing live rounds of .22LR and 9mm pistol? Or can I only dry fire when using a Scatt sensor on these calibres?

You can use the SCATT Basic system for both live-fire and dry-fire practice.

Can you consider that you give us the option to buy a license for SCATT Professional or Expert software, which we could use on SCATT Basic, because we (shooters and coaches) need that detailed analysis?

Hi, unfortunately the SCATT Basic is designed to work only with its own version of the software. It does indeed include only the most important and crucial data, missing some deeper analytical features. But just like with any other SCATT model, you can always rely on it's high standard of accuracy. If you feel that you've mastered all the data that SCATT Basic offers, you can upgrade to any of the other 4 models, all of which do support the the deeper analytics of the SCATT Pro or Expert software.

Hi Flavio, thank you for your interest. The SCATT Basic and all other SCATT models can be used for all types of guns, both pistols and rifles.

Hello! There is a problem, when i want to calibrate the scatt to the rifle, there is no red dot on the black circle. I did restart the programm, and the computer around 8 times, but nothing.

The first thing to check is the light intensity on the target surface. You can use your smartphone with "LuxMeter" or similar app to measure the luminosity. Try to have at least 1000 Lux. If the issue continues please contact us at [e-mail]
