There is definitely something special about the islands off the mainland. They feel very much like Ireland in the 90s. Carrig Island is another gem across the estuary.

Really loving your videos...making me want to explore all these places. I'm from Dublin but it makes me feel I don't know a bit about Ireland!! Love to see you get your own series on TV. Ratings would be through the roof!!

Derek Cullen Outdoors id say it takes a lot of effort making your videos after walking all day but if you get the chance would you make a short video showing what you carry on a daily basis in your rucksack? I walked a thousand kilometres across France and Spain on the Camino a few years back but with the facilities along the Way there was no need for camping gear, cooking equipment or even food unless you fancied a few snacks. You made it to the Blaskets and beyond so it must be a winning formula!

The monks didn't run into the towers, to hide and protect themselves from the Vikings. They weren't that stupid. All the Vikings needed to do was build a large bonfire around the tower and that would be the end of the monks. Ireland was much more forested back then and the monks would run into the woods, to hide from Vikings.

I taugh that it be death trap. More like they lock vikings in when the went in to get gosld stuff then starving them till the gave up
