See to me Chonkers (or hollow) is only evil bc Kamen moved to increase the violence involved in its feeding. It sucks, but it’s based on Kamen’s real desire for endless power and control. His insecurity moves him to violence- I feel for him, but I still want him dead at this point in the story. In Sam’s words: “fuck Kamen.”

The Hollow may be somewhat sentient, but at the end of the day the reason its so violent is because KAMEN made it that way. Kamen is the true villain of the show.

It was Kamen who got the crew stuck on the planet because he WILLFULLY ignored orders after he messed-up with his duties on the ship, then forced the issue, which resulted in a life/death evacuation.. Yeah, Kamen is a bad guy. Not necessarily “the” bad guy, but definitely a bad guy. Theona apparently thought so as well. He is THE ONLY CREW MEMBER presented to have issues of self-centeredness. For Kamen (cave-men) it’s about ME, MY and MINE. You’re not going to build a civilization with that mentality. Yet, he’s still alive and Sam is gone. Sad.

Those weird zombie creating plants are definitely EVIL... Maybe moreso than chonkers... Hes only "evil" because hes a symbiotic being who wants to keep his little pet by his side. Those other plants are straight up evil.

Not sure I’d call them “evil”. They operate very much like viruses. It’s a survival mechanism, there’s no malice behind it. Neither and herbivore or a carnivorous predator is evil, though they kill to survive.
