The trinity has made Christians mad, absurd, confused and disoriented especially when they want to explain or defend it. Why !? Because the church told them that if someone does not believe it faithfully and firmly, he can never be saved by Jesus! They must understand this incomprehensible trinity, believe in itself if it is strange and mysterious and defend it by looking for anything in the Bible to legitimize it and many times they repeat like parrots what the church has them invented and taught. Otherwise they will be considered unbelievers and will not benefit from salvation! The followers of the trinity claim to be monotheists. It is important to note that verse 73 of Surah Ma'idah talks about the mainstream trinity or trinity in general sense; whereas, verse 116 of Surah Ma'idah talks about a specific concept of trinity, where Mary is considered as part of it, instead of Holy Spirit. So, in a sense, these 2 verses criticize the concept of trinity of all sects of Christianity, both mainstream and minority. It is also important to note that Verse 116 does not use the term trinity. It simply talks about the people, who take Mary and Jesus as god beside Allah. So, this verse here is very specific to refrain using the term trinity or even the number 3. It talks about a certain group of people and a certain belief of them. For example, a person can believe that father, son and the holy spirit are God and Mary is also God. Therefore, this verse categorically talks about the people who consider Mary and Jesus as God, apart from their other beliefs and these people are certainly a minority group (i.e. Marianists) Even Verse 73 does not use the term trinity specifically and it does say about the claim of God being the third of the three. So the number 3 is mentioned here, but it does not specify who are those 3 persons defined as God in Christianity. So, it can be interpreted in a broader sense to include all the groups, majority and minority.

لَقَدۡ كَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَۖ وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمۡۖ إِنَّهُۥ مَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُ ٱلنَّارُۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنۡ أَنصَارٖ They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. Fürwahr, ungläubig sind diejenigen, die sagen: "Gewiß, Allah ist al-Masih, der Sohn Maryams", wo doch al-Masih (selbst) gesagt hat: "O Kinder Isra'ils, dient Allah, meinem Herrn und eurem Herrn!" Wer Allah (etwas) beigesellt, dem verbietet fürwahr Allah das Paradies, und dessen Zufluchtsort wird das (Höllen)feuer sein. Die Ungerechten werden keine Helfer haben. -Sura Al-Ma'idah, Ayah 72
