Rasheed Kareem BUT... how many people has he driven away from Islam or alienated eg.the Shia community. There are certain established methods for winning people over which really are pretty universal. Hijab is pretty average as a communicator right now but has the potential to be much much better. To his credit he has a warm personality and is prepared to apologize when wrong. However when looked at on influencing principles ala Caldiani and other experts, he isn't good. Contrast him with Zain who has much higher communication and debating skills and winning people over in droves to the Shia message. It's not about technical or superior Islamic knowledge but about winning people over. It's not about education, power, authority on a topic but about tapping into the emotional make up,building relationships and bridges. It's not about win lose but collaboration.. Now how does creating barriers like he has done here help these aspects!?, For every one person Mohammad influences to accept Islam, how many people is he alienating and driving away or ridiculing Islam or Sunni Islam?, Sure his loyal fanbase wants a victory but at what cost?, Now if he decided to discuss a modern context built on historical facts about the khilafah, why its needed today, etc then he might have something much more relevant.

Farjad Askari Mohammad Hijab debated atheists on scientific points and couldn't define what a triangle is, saying :"I'm not good at math innit". It's on his channel. So there he goes debating all sorts of scientific claims but doesn't know about science.. Now that's not to show any deficiency on his part since he's an excellent Islamic apologist and uses a philosophical angle VS atheists. However his position here isn't logically consistent. As the Shia interlocutor mentioned, does Hijab know Hebrew when debating Christians (eg Jay Smith)? Imagine if Jay or James White imposed a condition like that? To be honest Adnan looked embarrassed I thought and quickly mentioned discussions as acceptable but not academic ones! Coincidentally, they compose majority of the terrorists. Following the sunnah? The book of Allah and my progreny.” Secondly, your last point can only be applied to rape because in mutah, sexual interocurse isn’t allowed. Also, don’t you know that the Sunnis believe the prophet permitted mutah except, the Sunnis say it was abrogated. Such stupid arguments and patheticness. We pray the five daily prayers, we recite dua Kumayl every Thursday night, dua juash al kabeer (which has 1000 names of Allah) during Ramadan and dua malshool.

J IraQi Ht3 - especially for Shias because a number of their beliefs are based on an incorrect understand of Arabic morphology and conjugation. If they were willing to learn and not be stubborn, they would realise this. The same way maths is a set system eg. 1+1=2 and no one can argue against this, similarly Arabic has a set system too and it just takes someone willing to understand, to understand.

You can understand and explain the Quran with the Quran (Tafsirul Quran bil Quran) then with the Sunnah (Tafsirul Quran bis Sunnah) then with the fahm of companions, (Tafsirul Quran bill fahmus sahaba) and lastly the Arabic language! (Tafsirul Quran bill lugatil arabiyati) if they don’t have the Arabic language how the HECK CAN THEY HAVE UNDERSTANDING OF THE COMPANIONS UNDERSTANDING OF THE SUNNAH, UNDERSTANDING OF THE QURAN WITH BY ITSELF? If you don’t understand arabic then you won’t be able to understand the statements of the sahaba, if you don’t understand the statement of the sahaba you won’t be able to understand the sunnah, if you don’t understand the Sunnah, you won’t understand the QURAN because the Sunnah explains the Quran, and the statements Of the companions helps explaining the Sunnah and understanding the statements of the sahaba you need to understand Arabic! The name of this battle is 'The Battle of Siffeen" As a free thinking Muslim, is it not my right to question about such episodes, for example: 1. How on earth can Allah be ever pleased with the oppressed and the oppressors at the same time? If this is not the mockery of Islam then what else is it? 2. Can warmongers, evildoers, oppressors and transgressors be the sahabas of the Holy Prophet? And that also people waging wars against the flesh and blood of your own Prophet? 3. Can the sahabas be warmongers, unjust, oppressors and transgressors? 4. If you were present at the time, whose side would you have taken and on what grounds? 5. We are told not to criticise, question the behaviour and the characters of the sahabas. One wonders why. The son of prophet Nuh (a s) could not escape from the wrath of Allah. The uncle of the Holy Prophet, Abu Lahab and his wife could not escape from the curse of Allah, why on earth should the sahabas of the Holy Prophet get away with murderers? 6. One would think that the sahabas were supposed to be good role models for the Ummah. 7. Please study the first twelve verses of Sura Tahreem and ponder over it. 8. Did Ayesha and Mu'awiyya accept hazrat Ali (a s) as the Rightful Caliph of their time or what? Please study the history of Islam academically, with an open mind and free of prejudice. Do not be a victim of prejudice, brainwashing, ignorance and misconceptions. I can bet most of the Sunnis who're humiliating Shias don't even know the basics of Holy Quran. I've also read Quran multiple times but no one is perfect in Qirat and these guys may be college students so how you can expect them to know all the Islamic terminologies. I can bet reading the Quran wasn't the problem, whereas, you can't expect them to talk about the technicalities. Obviously, they'll be talking about historical context and understanding of Arabic language is not the pre-requisite. However, I appreciate the calmness of Mr. Rashid.

Nice discussion ,good hearted. Adnan comes off well here and the Shia guys are VERY direct. This youngster Zain is probably the sharpest guy of all the guys present here in terms of his application of logic and wit ,even though the Shia position on Imamah is somewhat untenable and he lacks the depth of Arabic required for technical aspects of discussion. He studied under a Sunni teacher interestingly enough.

Any objective neutral observer would notice that the Sunni side is absolutely right and just at this debate. The same would apply if this was let's say Hasidic vs Sephardic debate instead of Sunni-Shia dispute. Just about common sense and fair play principles. The Shias usually get very emotional (something I noticed that happens when Br. Hijab and other Muslims talk to Christians at the Speakers' Corner) which only outlines the weakness of their position.

We are told not to criticise, question the behaviour and the characters of the sahabas. One wonders why. The son of prophet Nuh (a s) could not escape from the wrath of Allah. The uncle of the Holy Prophet, Abu Lahab and his wife could not escape from the curse of Allah, why on earth should the sahabas of the Holy Prophet get away with murderers? 6. One would think that the sahabas were supposed to be good role models for the Ummah. 7. Please study the first twelve verses of Sura Tahreem and ponder over it. 8. Did Ayesha and Mu'awiyya accept hazrat Ali (a s) as the Rightful Caliph of their time or what? Please study the history of Islam academically, with an open mind and free of prejudice. Do not be a victim of prejudice, brainwashing, ignorance and misconceptions.
