Well I for one live in the Midwest but was 40 yrs right outside of Hollywood and an X singer myself can completely relate to this movie and unless you have some knowledge of how hard it is to break into the entertainment business and how small Midwestern towns are compared to Los Angeles and Hollywood you might not understand. I completely understand and LOVED this simple but dynamic movie! And Christina and Cher are both tremendous songbirds. And definitely made this movie. But the truth of it is this movie portrayed it exactly like it is. This movie was good and simply the way it is pretty much. I could completely relate.

Her powerful vocals are beyond impressing and while some of it does tend to get a bit "over the top" with fluctuations, she carries it off with perfection. But what pulls me in more than anything is the amazing choreography in this piece. The girls were incredible but the choreographer gets my kudo's for such an incredible fast paced dance number.

A formulaic film rescued by some of the very best musical numbers I've ever seen/heard. Christina Aguilera was magnificent in an inferior vehicle, which even the mighty Cher could not elevate. The film is badly flawed, but still worth a place in every video library.
