Because Chozen *IS* better than Johnny. Daniel is very clearly shown to be just as good as Johnny, if not slightly better(since he fared a little better against Sensei Wolf than Johnny did). And yet Chozen basically disabled Daniel when they fought. And if that’s not enough, look at Johnny and Chozen’s fights with Terry Silver in Season 5. Chozen eventually beats Terry(before getting distracted), meanwhile Johnny was taken out by Terry relatively quickly.
