This was a very touching treatment of HRH's Princess Margaret's death.

Even after all of the disappointment Margaret faced in life; not being allowed to marry the love of her life, not able to have a place of legitimacy within the family... at the end of it all - she knew they were still, and will forever be, sisters.

Season 6 was pretty uneven - but this episode with Margaret’s goodbye is one the finest pieces of television I’ve seen in years. “What will the future hold for us all?” Hits on every emotional level. Phenomenal.

They have always honored Princess Margaret, even in the passage of time over the series went to Princess Diana, I looked forward to the Margaret episodes. I was in tears at the end of this episode. They did her good.

I read once that everyone experiences three deaths. The first death is when you body dies. Your second death is when your remains are buried, burned or otherwise removed. Your third and final death is when your name is spoken for the last time.

Death is eternal oblivion, nothing truly survives , that's not the nature of human existence; death is a lack of existence, a lack of being for endless and endless of eons that precedes and follows a brief spark of existence in a rather merciless universe, it is so unfathomable that the human mind has difficulty comprehending its nature so it clings to whatever it offers some comfort to be able to make it until the moment comes.❤

I think this is my favorite scene in the entire series. QE II enjoying some downtime, perfectly happy and ...human. Her heart shows. Bless her. To have to give that up shows a strength of character no other leader has had in the last century. RIP dear lady.

Yes. Very clever to match to the Crown cast as much as to the real life younger royals.

I love how two teenage English girls stroll up to the gates of Buckingham Palace and the gates magically open and the guards stand to attention without a challenge being issued or a word being said.

This was the most beautiful portrayal of the passing of a loved one I have ever seen. It’s meant to be about death, but it’s about love.

This scene was such a dignified, loving and emotional tribute to Princess Margaret and the enduring relationship she and the Queen had. I tear up every time I see it. Easily the best of season 6- if not the whole series.

I like to think this actually happened (which it obviously did not). And by the way Elizabeth was already kind of ‘seeing’ Philip by this point (18 here I think), so she certainly would not have anything going on with Lord Porchester.

Nor, for that matter, would Elizabeth have allowed a stranger to kiss her deeply enough to have his gum end up in HER mouth! While it is true that that she and Margaret did join in the V-E Day celebrations (and Elizabeth was wearing her uniform), I suspect that any shenanigans the future queen might have gotten into that night were pretty tame. (There are actually videos online of Queen Elizabeth sharing her memories of V-E Day, including a cute story of how she tried to go out incognito- only to get busted when an officer reprimanded her for wearing her cap pulled too low. 😅.)

While I do doubt those dance scenes happened, they were out and about on VE Day and had great fun. They did end up in the Riz for a dance or conga. And together with friends were just two under hundreds or thousands walking up to Buckingham Palace shouting „We want the King“ celebrating together. And I think it’s great that the two were allowed to have such an experience, especially together.

This would have been before the abdication so at this point, nobody would have thought her to be the future queen, so she would have had much more freedom to do as she liked.

Actually it's more than possible. You see for 2 days after the war in Europe ended or world war II the whole city of London was one great big party and Margaret said in an interview that her and Elizabeth did sneak out to join the fun. There weren't paparazzi like today especially in Europe they respected the private lives of royals
