@@BlairMcNally was class been to a lot of staduims in europe. Villa Park , spurs, celtic, bilboa and aviva, but that final was electric. I love flares and Tifo brillant and no fighting either which is great . I bring 2 under 11 year old to all pats games.

I've never understood how Derry and Belfast republicans have such a love for soccer and not Gaelic Games. If you love both then great, it's just the impression I get from the amount of support for Derry City and the low support for GAA in the city by comparison. Maybe it's just an urban thing. Even the hunger strikers in 1981 couldn't be persuaded by a handful within the group to play Gaelic and they stuck with soccer. Surely the greatest rejection of colonialism would be to play your native games but it comes down to education as well, people might be Irish but participation in GAA deepens that connection so much more. Every child who picks up a hurl or kicks a football rejects what England tried to do to Ireland. Steelstown GAA doing well though, so things are changing. Lots of work to do still.

It’s a problem that comes from the commercialisation. Not enough money is put into promoting GAA to these youngsters giving them the option of both. Hugh that manages Steelstown is my big cousin hahaha small world. Great wee club just off the back of some success 👏🏻

Football is the international game. No other country plays GAA. Imagine if everyone just played GAA in Ireland, and not being able to play against other countries national teams and clubs. What a dull boring insular existence that would be.
