Film edited by Jason Vanderhill in 2017
Music by Ray Noble and his Orchestra with vocals by Al Bowlly
"An Hour Ago this Minute" recorded February 16, 1934 in Europe
by RCA Victor
Special thanks to the Vancouver Archives.
The film has been trimmed of all indoor and flat-copy footage, and scenes were adjusted for contrast, brightness, and speed. Otherwise, the footage remains in order. Unfortunately, there are no title slides to indicate who shot or produced the film, but I wonder if it was one of the newsreel firms that operated in town at the time. Or maybe it was just an ambitious anonymous local filmmaker. Either way, it's very rare for Vancouver, and I'd love to see more.

I love it when I spot a building from long ago that is still standing today.

The Marine Building was at the time of its completion the tallest building in the British empire. If you get a chance, just ride in the elevator and marvel at the craftsmanship of the inlay wood paneling.

Look at these streets. Public transportation, people are so well dressed while walking on the streets... How much society has decayed.
