I spent two years of my high school years in Vancouver, met my first crush in Moscrop secondary school, also met my very best friend living in there, but in the end I had to moved to Calgary in 2006 because of family reason. Back then I cried because I didn't want to leave the city. Looking back now, moving to Calgary was a blessing in disguise. My high school best friend also moved out to Saskatoon for job, and when we talk, we are both happy that we left the city we once loved, we had no desire to visit it anymore. Vancouver always have a special place in my heart, watching it turning into a slum hurts.
@Tugela605 ай бұрын
It is not turning into a slum. What is happening is that gentrification is slowly reducing the area homeless people can hang out in, with the result that they get concentrated into a few blocks of the city which has always been skid row.

@@Tugela60 may be you are right, but the general population of homeless did increase. it is not just the homeless too, the crime rate is terrible, I got my truck window smashed last time I was there just because I left my luggage in the truck for a quick lunch. @@timmyfung01 I have been here for thirty five years. It has improved a lot in that time. No one I know has experienced any sort of crime at all, except one lady who had her car keyed once by a crazy person in her neighborhood (not homeless).

Junkies and those homeless people are not poor. They can earn 1 million dollar and it will still only last for less than a month. More money = more and expensive drug. I get surprised when people hate legal immigrants coming in Canada to earn money by working hard while paying more taxes, but not the govt. or drug dealers who are born and raised in Canada yet help to ruin this country. Everything is too expensive nowadays that hard working citizen can't hope to save enough money to even buy a house unless they commit to around 30 years of mortgage. Being junkie and homeless is easy, as you get instant pleasure, and free place to live and govt. charge normal worker more taxes so they can build you a shelter. LOL Crumbling countries both Canada and US of America.
