They're like a series of science lessons coming to life, as beautifully and meaningfully, as possible. Your videos could be used in schoolrooms to depict science terms, and concepts, especially for children living in areas totally unlike these wide open samples of nature's classrooms. (I'm serious.) EVERYtime I watch one of your videos, I learn something, Doug... either directly through you, or a combo of you, and your knowledgeable guests. There's nothing better than sharing hobbies and interests between friends, as you two do, Doug and Kellie. Thank you, for also sharing them with us. 🏞 🌞🤗👏🌲💐

Rhonda you are so generous in your gifts of uplifting accolades! When one hosts a channel on KZbin, parts of one's personality can't be hidden. We can try to portray a public image, as an entertainer might choose to do, but even if we did, our regular subscribers will still get to know us after watching several of our videos. You are spot on Rhonda, because I love to learn, and I enjoy sharing what new things I have learned with others. Life is so interesting and it never stops surprising me: especially the complexity and variety of the natural world. It is always easier to tear something down than to build it; we can tear house down with a bulldozer in an afternoon but it could take all summer, or longer, to build one. Thank you for building me up Rhonda, very generous of you, as your kind natured personality shines through and touches and builds up those around you. Only strong capable people can build up others; thank you Rhonda!

@@CalNeva Doug, thank you so much. I could NOT agree more with what you wrote. I believe your love for what you do, your quest for honesty, your desire to learn, and share... shine through everything you do. It all reflects in the people you are friendly with, interview, and introduce to us, as well. You're not afraid to ask questions that help you to better understand... *** I REALLY believe that your presentations would benefit students, let alone people like many of us who just enjoy learning... Have a lovely evening, Doug, and thank you.🌲🛣👏🏞🤠

Wow Doug, thanks for yet another reason to visit California. I was lucky to have been born here, and thanks to my parents have many memories of our multiple trips to the Sequoia's, Yosemite, the Redwoods, and all over the western States. This is one area I don't recall going through, and is yet one more reason I consider CA the greatest State for it's dynamical nature, and beauty! 👍😎✌🗽
@CalNeva Жыл бұрын
Thanks for coming along Tom! California is an amazing state; it has six or so different regions all with their own unique beauty. Sorry to hear of some of the many new and unusual problems in some of its cities; the state deserves better. Agree; what a dynamic state Tom!

Hi Doug! Thanks for the ride! Your driving on the narrow roads reminded me of a long-ago song which included “keep your eyes on the road”. 😆 Temps are going up (way up) this weekend -108 over on the West side. Should have more snow melts. So far Tulare Lake is holding. Levees were built up three feet. Some creeks running high, some not so high. Your video’s continue to educate and to inspire one to “go and see what’s out yonder”!
@CalNeva Жыл бұрын
Hi Dana! I think of that song often when I am driving, I think it has saved my butt a few times. That's great the levee was built up, I am rooting for everyone in all the valley towns. Flooding is one of the worst things that can happen, let's hope the levees hold! Hope you are experiencing some fun this summer Dana! We enjoyed making the video for everyone.

Hi Lisa, glad you enjoyed looking at the birth of our new glaciers; you know, with climate change and all! Kellie identified the yellow flowers as arrow leaved balsam root, I believe. These mountains are just northwest of Bishop and southeast of Mammoth Lakes, CA off US 395. Have a good one Lisa!

Another great adventure my friend, McGee creek was amazing as usual, so nice up there, mono lake visitor center is always a must stop very informative, wonder if they still have the bodie info , they had a great video on the ghost town, back in the 80's I was behind mono lake and I ran into a six point mule deer with his herd, was a huge buck, great times in the Sierras thanks for taking us along, I've been watching guys at the inlet flow at Lundy catching 4&5 lbers catch & release they got some toads up there, lots of golds being pushed down I'll be there soon👍

Hi Brother Doug, I've been trying to comment, but my phone decided to go nuts right in the middle of my comment then froze up completely...maybe that ice bridge froze it up! Sure glad you didn't cross it, those things are dangerous. That ice cornice up there on the mountain...wow...wouldn't want to be under that either! Love Mono Lake, is the visitor center fairly new? I don't remember it. A trip to Convict Lake would be fun too. Another wonderful trip Brother, and thanks to Kellie also! 🇺🇸
@CalNeva Жыл бұрын
Hi Dick! Yep, that ice bridge has enough cooling power to reach way out into the desert and wreck havoc with all kinds of electronics; at least that's what the aliens told me from Area 51. I got your Convict Lake covered, coming soon. The Mono Lake visitor center is a newer building. The local group is being vigilant for the welfare of the lake, many of the west coast seagulls raise their chicks there and so the level needs to be maintained to keep the brooding islands inaccessible to marauding coyotes. Yes, Kellie does some good camera work, is very observant, and regularly initiates excellent ideas. I will relay the compliment to her. Perhaps I am saving Convict Lake footage so we can watch it to cool off when the summer really starts to heat up!
@Brother_D_therail Жыл бұрын
@@CalNeva That's hilarious Doug 🤣. I didn't know the aliens talked to you too, lol. Convict Lake is a great place and easy to get to, one of my old favorite side trips. A video specifically about Mono Lake would be interesting also. Have fun and be safe on your travels Brother! 🇺🇸

@@Brother_D_therail Actually Dick, I am still pissed off at them because the last time they abducted me I ended up getting dumped at a rest stop in Arkansas and had to purchase a Greyhound America Pass. Nobody would pick me up when I was hitch hiking because those little men, they took off with all my clothes. Luckily those little bastards duct taped my wallet to my left thigh, so I had ID when the state trooper picked me up near Conway.
