I grew up in Fairfield where you got gas. I was glad to leave there when I grew up. But I’ve been to Craters of the Moon many times, I’d love to go back now that I’m an adult and can appreciate it more, but it’s more than a few miles from Mobile Alabama.

Once in the campground, one of the walking paths there is a crater you can walk up and peek inside. There is snow inside that never melts.

I'm thinking on moving to Boise or Nampa...... I'm tired of Scottsdale and bought a new BMW adventure bike and getting ready for a move..... Have $5,000 bucks which is not much, but ready to travel...... I'm a commercial and Home inspector licensed in Arizona...... And working in Nampa as a building inspector full time at $30 bucks an hour could support me there..... Alone and no family 55 years old.... Ready for an adventure....... ha ha ......

Hope you head North to Mackay after Craters. Most of Idaho's highest peaks are in that area. Mackay Museum and the Mackay Mine Hill are worth seeing. So much to see in Idaho, you need at least a year.

The Earth’s mantle is floating over a hot spot that right now is under Yellowstone. Ithat hot spot used to be under Craters of the moon, evidenced by the dark volcanic rocks. It was in eastern Oregon before that. Millions of years.....

Is Idaho the only place you have seen numbered signs? Maybe check with the State Government office of tourism to see if they ave a map of them.

Too bad you didn’t go on Hwy 21 outside of Boise. A lot of beautiful country. However, I checked google maps, part of the road had been closed due to avalanche. Boy, I sure have seen a lot of country with your videos and another channel I follow. What is cool one can look up the various videos to plan a trip by. Lot better than reading in a travel book.

Backroads are fun to drive and lots to see, but you really need to watch your gas level or you could get in to trouble. Not a lot of places to get gas and most of them are high priced. Crater of the Moon. Do I need to get some bagels for the cream cheese? Happy trails.
