They took all the players off so they could clear the field of fans. They then continued the game.

It was to get his clone on. They say there is only 1 Tony Lockett but there was another one called Twony that did all the cleaning, washing, shopping etc. On this day he was promised he could come on in the originals place if he broke the record. As you can see the clone banged through a few more that day and no-one ever guessed the truth. Rumor also has it that the day a pig was let onto the SCG it was Twony that did it.
