While everyone gets excited about Isaac Heeney's mark did anyone notice, or for that matter, bother to mention, that player number 44 from GWS - I don't know who he is - who was under Heeney's wonderful "hanger" probably saved Heeney from serious injury or perhaps even worse. Look at the mark in slo-mo. Heeney was completely upended by the grab and heading to the turf in a head down position, a second away from a potential spinal injury. He had no control over his trajectory. Most high-flyer grabs usually wind up with the player landing on their side or on their back with outstretched arms providing a buffer for the impact. Look closely and you will see No 44 grabs Isaac Heeney's hand and rotates him just before impact. Heeney lands on his back. Safe and sound. Whoever you are, number 44 from GWS. You did a great thing for a colleague and allowed fans to marvel that much longer at Isaacs extra-ordinary skillset.

The AFL and the sport has everything to gain from advertising sportsmanship in the code especially now rules are highlighting areas of risk like concussion especially when it may have actually saved a players very life or future. I was a paramedic for 31 years. A head first impact may well have killed Isaac or put him in the spinal unit. I've attended patients to whom it has happened I kid you not. Jack Buckley deserves some sort of commendation for his quick thinking.

This game had everything: rival tensions, a fiery melee, impossible goals, spectacular spekkies, free flowing footy, and hard fought scrappy contests. 20 points down at ¾ time I still had hope and the boys clawed their way back. Gutsy bloods win! Fair play to GWS - Jones, Taylor, and Buckley were standouts for me. Buckley in particular deserves every swans’ gratitude for his quick thinking sportsmanship saving Heeney from an almost definite neck-breaking meeting with the ground. You’re a champ Buckley!

Absolutely incredible comeback from the Swans in the 4th. And I couldn’t be more happier about it. Everyone stood up when it mattered most, especially Heeney, Campbell, Warner & Amartey with the game winning goal. I still hope that we can stop having slow starts, but other than that, I’m impressed with the Swannies. Papley was involved in all of the last 4 Swans goals of the game, as well as kicking one himself - and no easy goal under the circumstances. He was absolutely brilliant. Despite the Swans being woeful before half time, their rally in the second half was a historic moment in AFL finals history. Papley, Warner and Heeney all deserve a MVP for their contribution in the second half. You gotta love footy or what eh?
