In casting a spell first you determine the cost of casting the spell (additional costs, alternate costs, blahblah), then you apply cost increases (insert lodestone golem here), then you apply cost decreases (affinity for artifacts etc) and then the lonely 3sphere is the last one; you set the cost to something. So first you apply golem and after that if the total cost is less than 3 threesphere makes it 3 :)
