Hi George I just bought a Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty from this year, but I’m a bit worried about it possibly getting damaged. I watched your video, and I definitely want to get Schaller strap locks, but I’ve seen a lot of people have issues with sizing and which one to use for this guitar, especially since the Les Paul is quite heavy. Could you tell me which size you used-S, M, or L-and if you had any issues with the installation? Did you need to use toothpicks to make the screws fit properly? Thanks in advance for your help!

The box says 14010501 S-Locks Gold. I didn't use tooth pick, but even if you have to its not a problem.

So you used the L set for the back and the M pin for the one near the neck? I was about to order an M for the back and an S for the shoulder, now I don't know anymore!

Great video! Will they work on a Fender Stratocaster Special?
@GeorgeVGuitars2 жыл бұрын
They should work on any guitar with strap buttons on screws.

Ok just to spread the word, since no one on YT has mentioned them. But schaller makes classic models, which are the new buttons but with a Hole for the screws, so you dont have to change screw

Will them work with the screws that come with my Gibson LP custom?
@l0rd_breeigo-sama9549 күн бұрын
@ I mean the new ones that are combined might not and you would have to modify the pre existing holes. Which is why the classic is better imo, even though it has more rattle

Which size would you recommend for Les Paul Modern Figured? Small, Medium or Large?

So there were no issues on fitting the Schaller to the front position, despite the length of screw?

Have had mine for 4 years now. They MUST be greased more than once I think. The metal was eaten up by the movements of just sitting in a chair (?) and now I have to buy new ones. They also unscrew the screw that goes into the guitar because the lock is part of the screw and without lubrication / grease it starts to unscrew from the movements. Mine are now completely eaten up and it's just luck that I didn't drop the guitar. I was suprised to see how eaten up the holder was. I could flip the mount off with a little movement just..FYI only

Hi George, as we speak a '23 Gibson Les Paul custom (exactly similar to yours) is coming my way and wanting to install the schaller gold new mechanism. Is it straight forward installation or have to drill/toothpick the holes? Thanks
@GeorgeVGuitars7 ай бұрын
Should be fine. Toothpicking is the better option. Rotate slowly if they dont go in easily to avoid cracking the nitro and paint.

@@GeorgeVGuitars Hi again George, I got my Schaller strap locks. The bottom/butt of the guitar screw just fine the screws almost the same size. Now the neck-joint Gibson original screws to my surprise were considerably shorter and thinner than the Schaller. I tried screwing the Schaller but can only go one turn and stopped. I didn't wanna force it for the fear of cracking a $5000 guitar. I stopped. What did you do in that point, did you drill? Or forced it into the whole? Thanks
@GeorgeVGuitars7 ай бұрын
@@jimjim7008 Forced it. Just go slower with 1/4 turns
