He began the deterioration of public services that led to mass homeless people living in cities and the deterioration of our economy that we're still paying for to this very day. My children are probably never going to own their own homes and it's because of what Reagan started and today's Republicans are continuing. Reagan was a horrible president.

Originally telecast on April 6, 1958 [this version is without the original opening and closing titles, commercials, and Reagan's remarks and "plugs" for G.E.]. As the host of the series, Reagan would also appear- occasionally- in a leading or supporting role in the stories. Young Gavin MacLeod is "Henry".....

Great acting by Reagan, no doubt because it came from personal experience. Not his own, but his father's: Jack Reagan was an alcoholic.

Ronald Reagan as you've never seen him before! He kind of reprised this in The Killers, his last film (and he hated the role, lol). Thanks for posting! I was looking for a GE True episode called The Wrong Nickle and saw the thumbnail in my search and asked myself, is that Reagan?

RR was no slouch at all as an Actor. You simply do not survive over a quarter of a Century in Hollywood without some real talent for the craft. While he never won an Oscar,, he was no bit part actor working wherever he could. He was a leading man at Top Studio Warner Bros. for many years. As to him always being labeled a "B-Actor", most Actors do "B" films as only a few pictures are made as "A's" each year. This is not to say that he did not appear in "A"s as Reagan did have supporting or co-lead roles in movies that were nominated for "Best Picture" in the Academy Awards and he worked with many of the top stars of his era in the "Golden Age of Hollywood". However, since he made a lot of $ for the studios in light romantic comedies and some Westerns, he did get somewhat stuck in roles that did not require great acting range and depth. GE Theatre was great for him because he got to do some more varied and meatier roles when he appeared as an Actor on the show. RR did over 30 different episodes as an Actor on this very popular show, in addition to always hosting and narrating the show. In 1961, he got his Star on Hollywood, still well before his political career was launched.
