Excellent review! The quality of your videos (black back ground, lighting, presentation etc) are top notch and don't distract from the task at hand; reviewing guitars. One of the best I've seen... and how could anyone not like Alice in Chains?? I just ordered one of these guitars and can't wait to play it! Rock on!

I ended up later on swapping out the bridge pickup with a Duncan JB, the neck with a Duncan Lil 59, and disconnecting the middle pickup, then installing a 3way switch. (In the next video. ) It became even better. Best sound combinations I have ever had. It's so versatile. I still use this guitar as my main go to for everything. :)

@onevoiceinc4 жыл бұрын
@@Aokitadamitsu- I'm currently using a Katana 100, but at the time of this video, I recorded through a (gasp! bleck!) Line 6/Bogner 2x12. It now sounds like a toy compared to the Katana. Still, I was able to get some almost decent sounds from it. With the Katana, it sounds incredible. I'm trying to decide whether to convert the Line 6 into a lamp or some other device so no more harm occurs to future listeners, lol. :D I'm using 500K pots with it. The orange drop I added (the one in the following video) is an unorthodox higher resistance capacitor... but it sounds amazing.

Going by the specs on Schecter's site I ordered one of these, turns out the 19-20 mm neck was bullshit it has a really thick neck, I was pissed. Furthermore, Schecter ignores customer inquires, I emailed them once with pickup questions and again after I received the Banshee to inform them their specs are wrong and to see if the c1 sls elite really had a 19-20mm neck like the C-6.....screw Schecter.....no reply either time.

Hi, awesome guitar review, it looks and sounds great from what I can tell, how would you compare this neck to that of an ibanez wizard neck?
@onevoiceinc4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I just noticed this. As far as comparing the two necks, my previous main go-to was an Ibanez S series guitar. The Banshee neck feels very similar as far as playability. If anything, I prefer the Schecter far more.
@freakfletch04 жыл бұрын
onevoiceinc Thank you, I was wondering because when I tried an Ibanez a bit back, the neck was a bit too thin for my liking.

In hindsight, I agree. The Schecter just feels like you have something in your hands. It plays excellently. :) The Ibanez was super thin. Kinda too thin, now that I look back.

I know this is an old video, but you talk about it being heavy. Is it like non weight relieved Les Paul heavy? Also, did it come out of the box good?
@onevoiceinc4 жыл бұрын
As far as the weight, it's actually not bad. At the time, I was primarily using an Ibanez S series (which weighs nothing). I adjusted to it very quickly, especially following this video. To this day, the Schecter has become my primary guitar, and it's super comfortable. As far as the unboxing, I purchased mine at a Guitar Center, so I never got that particular thrill. I will say that in the past, other Schecter guitars I've owned came out of the box fully setup and ready to gig. So there's that...
@Scott__C4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response and detail, I have a Sun Valley Super Shredder and it's a good weight, and of course if you see one that's not expensive..........
@onevoiceinc4 жыл бұрын
The Sun Valley models have had my eye also. Schecter makes some great guitars. That's for sure. I prefer a super strat to a vintage guitar any day of the week. At the moment, I'm torn between getting another Banshee Extreme (possibly the red one and swapping the pick guard with a black one), an Ibanez RGA42, and an ESP MH-200. Decisions decisions...
@Scott__C4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, too many good guitars out there these days. The Sun Valley is great. The EMGs are good in it.

I've got this guitar and while it's nice, I just can't seem to love the trem. It's up for sale but I'll try blocking it and see if I like it any better. Schecter pickups have never been my favorites, but it might be the hate for the trem just throwing bias in there on me. I love setting FR's trems up but I bend a lot of notes and play other notes on top, it just can't do that with the full floating.
@onevoiceinc5 жыл бұрын
Blocking the trem and getting better pickups is the key. The body material is excellent, but the electronics are so so. (That's how I believe the price is so low.) Swapping the bridge with a Duncan JB and the neck with a Lil 59 turned it into the best guitar ever. I had the middle pickup disconnected and put in a 3way switch. It's the perfect sound for this guitar. It plays amazingly, the action and tuning are now perfect, and it's super reliable. The stock pickups on this guitar (and most guitars) are typically lacking. But yeah, that's what I did, and it is my favorite guitar.
@sketchstuffs5 жыл бұрын
onevoiceinc I've been mulling over swapping pickups in this one and had those exact ones in mind. Believe that might have to be my birthday present to myself 😂 I love the looks but something just keeps me from playing it, so doing these things might fix that. Also the jumbo frets don't make it better but that's not as important to me.
@onevoiceinc5 жыл бұрын
I'll say, if you're gonna do the pickup swap, go ahead and try out a 3way switch (disconnecting the middle single coil entirely) so you're only dealing with the humbuckers themselves. That middle position sounds so good with that setup. Worst case, you could always keep the coil split for even more tone options. I'm thinking about also doing this to my Yamaha Pacifica 612vii, cause I absolutely love the sound. It's so bluesy and very versatile, imo.

onevoiceinc yeah, I played for Seacoast for 11 years... it was a great experience for the most part. What are you using for video recording? I’m wanting to convert my bonus room to a video/audio production set to do “unplugged” type thing.... I have a couple DSLR cameras but I need to work on lighting.
@onevoiceinc5 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, I've done every one of my videos using my cell phone camera. From there, I edit using Sony Videostudio and on rare occasion I'll use Corel Video. (My Sony program doesn't have many extra plug ins, but it renders sound cleaner. Corel has a few cool video effects, but it renders video fast and murders your audio. I mostly use it for title roll ins.) On this one, I got the lighting right, and it looked pretty good. Dude, you should totally 1. start that channel and 2. Let me know so I can check it out when you do.

@onevoiceinc6 жыл бұрын
Honestly, this is my favorite guitar. I got it a year ago as a backup for my Ibanez, but since I got it, it's all I play anymore, lol. My Ibanez has become a nice house ornament. It still plays quite well, but the Schecter just outshines it, especially with the new(er) Duncan pickups. It can definitely do the hard rock/metal thing well, but the rock, blues, and jazz tones are insane.

Also should I get the Floyd rose, or the normal bridge?
@onevoiceinc5 жыл бұрын
I personally prefer a Floyd Rose, but I almost always block the tremolo. That way I still get all the tuning stability, plus the option to go back to free floating if I choose. I always prefer more options. As far as pickups, I had mine setup with a JB in the bridge and a Lil 59 in the neck with a 3way switch. The middle pickup was removed from the wiring (and left in place to fill the space). I prefer that sound. I have another video that does some sound samples with those pickups. Overall, I still love this guitar. It's my go to guitar for all my live playing. It's reliable, and it sounds great. I'm pretty confident you'll love it. I'm considering buying a second one sometime down the road, just as a nice backup.

@@Adidas_Altyn also, I'll be uploading a new video soon (hopefully within a week... I'm trying to wrap it up this week) that highlights more sounds - both distortion and cleans. @onevoiceinc6 жыл бұрын
I typically try to mix out as much treble as allowable (without losing clarity), but in my opinion, it is a great balance between a Strat and a PRS. You'll be very happy with it, I'm sure. The neck on it is amazing. The push/pull switch gives it a nice Strat-y sound also. And worst case, you can always do like I did and install some custom Duncan's (like I did) or even a set of DiMarzio's. I like that PRS sound, so I went back and installed a JB in the bridge and a Lil 59 in the bridge, eliminating the middle position entirely to get 'my sound.' But that's the beauty of it - it's a very well-rounded guitar right off the shelf... and then you can add to it and make it more customized to your liking. I'm pretty positive you'll love it, regardless. I've been considering getting a second one (the red one), lol. When you get yours, drop me a line (or post a video) and let me know how you're liking it. :)
