Personally, I'm not a fan of the finish. The guitar sounds BA. The looks... not so much. My suspicion is that they don't sell as many of these as they otherwise would have, if the guitar was produced with a different finish. I know it's a Merrow signature, but even so, I think the finish would scare people off. A lot of metal bands take to the stage in a decent amount of darkness. They wear dark-colored clothing, and they like dark finish instruments to go along with that theme. I wouldn't want to be a metal guitarist on stage with such a vibrantly colored guitar. Maybe if the headstock and neck were different color or something. It's too much.
@fistinair19797 жыл бұрын
It is a signature guitar, why would they sell it in a color that the artist didn't choose? There are plenty of black Schecter guitars.
@xXEmbracetheMetalXx7 жыл бұрын
Personal opinion.
@xXEmbracetheMetalXx7 жыл бұрын
I didn't say the guitars had to be black. I just don't see the lambo colors selling extremely well. A high-priced guitar is produced to play great, feel great, sound great, look great, and SELL. Sell or they get lost in guitar history with countless other unique guitars. Sad to see, but it happens all too often.

The pickup problem is interesting. Awhile ago I bought the KM7 MKII brand new. They put threaded brass inserts into the body to screw in the pickups. After a week I realized that the factory pushed the inserts in too deep and they were bulging out of the back of the guitar and slightly cracking the wood. I sent it back and didn't get another one.

I love Merrow but hate Schecter. If I owned it I'd probably re-wire everything, but I know nothing about the sustainiac. Knowing my luck, if I took this apart the Sustainiac would not function properly when back together. I hate the normal Schecter headstock, but the 7 string Loomis and Merrow headstocks are ok. If you review anymore sustainiac guitars could I suggest the new Ibanez Satriani 6 string in red to review. his sustainiac has 3 modes. Yes, I know that type of guitar is not in your wheelhouse, but I believe you are ready to work outside of your comfort zone. solid review, so good work sir.
@iamdavymarquez7 жыл бұрын
This sustainiac has three modes as well, fundamental, mixed and harmonic. In fact, it's the same pickup, but they give you a choice on humbucker or single coil cofiguration. Don't know if that afect the tone of the pickup when off at all...

I use to have a Schecter C-1 Hellraiser from around 2010. I had for it a vary shot wail. The neck is simply to small for me. Not thickness wise (Don't mind the baseball bat's) but width wise ... 42 mm... It was then i truely realist, that i prefer wider neck, like B.C. Rich, Ibanez, Gibson, Jackson, older Schecter and ESP's 42 mm i just not enough for me... Look. A mm or 2 do'ent sound of mutch, but it makes a HUGH defrense, Desturbently i'v seen the same trent at ESP/Ltd over the last cople of years, wich is why i prefer the older model and not the newer once. Again, this is just my own opion. Hope you'll find is interasting. Like to know what you think. Nice vids BTW Horns up Martin DK

That’s one complaint I have about schecter. I’d bought a blackjack avenger a few years back and It came with no case. In fact the guy at Guitar center felt bad enough to give me a fender gig bag for it which was too short lol. Schecter makes some great guitars but at $1000 you’d figure they’d give you something to protect It.

While on the subject of demoing Schecter guitars outside of your comfort zone, why not consider trying out either the Schecter Synyster Custom-S (another Floyd Rose/Sustaniac combo - just with a wackier shape than you're probably used to), or if that's a little too much, then maybe the Schecter Zacky Vengeance? Both guitars do have rather noticeable graphics/finishes that attribute them to their respective artists, but ultimately it should be more about how the guitar sounds rather than looks, right? Unrelated question, but are there any old arcade games that you like?

FatherSnacks ofcourse! It's a 7 string and B standard is the standard tuning on 7 string guitars! And thats not all! It has a 26,5 inch scale neck which makes it even better for B standard because of the longer scale lenght! Your welcome!:D

The longer scale lenght, the more tension in the strings
@ZZiiNNggEErr9877 жыл бұрын

I've got a 1st gen KM-6 (trans white with the black winter pup's) and the bridge pickup mount has the same problem... Oh and the volume pot started to cut in and out after about 3 months (3 months of barely playing it because my other guitars are much nicer to play). I personally can't stand the super thin neck either. All in all, I hate the guitar. Need to get the vol pot fixed and sell it.

Adam Harmon I've been searching for a white one for about a year online. Get it throw some Fishman fluence pups in it and shred. I hate the fact though that the elite only came in 14" radious. Bridge sits perfectly when your palm just naturally goes to without elbow bend.
