Its funny why is the wife leaving us? Well first off he cheated on her in the beginning of the marriage and has a illegitimate son. 2nd cheating mentally with the scheming women at work and off work plus letting the witch come into his house when wife was on a business trip doing wifely chores plus who knows what else. The wife accepted his son which put alot of pressure on her and the family. I wouldn't have accepted the son i would of said HELL NO divorce and take everything from him. While the mom in law think the wife needs to let EVERYTHING GO like it never happened. This family was doomed the day he cheated on wife and got someone else pregnant. Then letting the daughter think its ALL her moms fault. The evil ones is the husband and mother-in-law.

This husband is not worth keeping - he does nothing to protect his wife, instead because he says nothing, he protects his mistress. What a spineless man, his mother is stronger in protecting their family against the evil woman using him. What a farce. I wouldn’t stay with that man/husband either. He is useless, spineless and maybe his silence is because he really does want that mistress.

A few of the comments were out of sync. Even without watching the whole series I could gather the gist of the story. Bai ling was out to take revenge for sister, Dr Lin's first wife who died but left a son behind. Who was taken in by his second wife Jiang Lan. The mother-in-law just like any mother-in-law of course welcomed the grandson. But the MIL loved and appreciated Jiang Lan very much who was a good DIL as well as stepmother. Dr. Lin was weak and very naive person. He didn't and was never seduced by bai lin. But because of being so naive and trusting went along with this evil woman bai lin and almost broke up his own family .... But the truth came out in the end. Bai lin lost ... she ruined Lin's reputation but she lost her own true love, lao li to jiang ying, jiang lan's sister, as well as her own dignity ... In fact everything. But Dr Lin's family stayed together. So bai lin was the real loser. 😊😊😊
