Great, simple and straightforward demonstration. Thanks.

I have looked at the Scheepach grinder and it feels very "China copy" of a Tormek. I use an old Tormek that are from about 1990 and it still works perfectly. A sturdy welded steel body and very stabil construction, no flex in the tool rest. Tormek are giving 7 years warranty on the bigger T8 even for professional use and for the smaller T4 witch are more in the same range as the Scheepach they give 7 years for home use. I would put my money on Tormek, the quality are so much higer and you have to see this as an investment for many years to come.

Vh. Carsten

@roscott : this machine wasnt exactly cheap. sure half the price of tormek, but for this price you expect the thing to actually work properly

M. R. If you look carefully it is the stone flange/sticker that is out of alignment. If you look at the edge of the stone wheel in comparison to the power outlet it looks consistent.

i have this machine , while the machine is very good the CHINESE Abrasive wheels , are ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE, they are extremely poor quality with massive soft spots. i had the original replaced under warranty, the second wheel was no better if not slightly worse. I am a retired ABRASIVE SALES REP, and have some knowledge in abrasives , bonded, coated , vitrified, etc these blue wheels are JUNK
@difflocktwo7 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey Lord I am no abrasive expert but I have noticed the stone seems to release abrasive excessively and unevenly making the wheel go out of round and form high spots.
@jeffreylord81727 жыл бұрын
difflocktwo you can get a grey stone from SEALY'S ON E BAY It will need a 20mm to 12mm in insert for the shaft . Much better wheel '

This machine is a hunk of shit. Currently trying to refund mine after less than a week the leather has an air pocket bulging in one spot & is coming off at the join, the wheels not round or true & it doesn't come with a truing tool. It also has 2 huge plastic star headed guide rod fixing bolts that block you from passing your blade across the machine. A perfect example why it always costs me more when i try to go cheap. When will i learn!

I bought a Tormek and sold it a month later. These types of wet grinders are VERY, VERY SLOW. It's poor design. Knives can be sharpened much faster without overheating/damage to the blade.
@miscellaneous52684 жыл бұрын
And how exactly do you do that?
@mikepeterson65273 жыл бұрын
Terrible engineering on the wheel terrible run out can’t really sharpen properly, Very poor quality
