I lifted this black box away from the engine and attached it to the top of the machine, under the control lever. I extended the wires from the engine and dragged the black box there as well. The connection point is in this brown box. I also welded one stick to the control lever, which presses the button on the black box at the same time when I control the machine. 1 lever now also presses the button and the other hand remains free. Basically, I changed the location of the black box, the location of the switch, and welded an additional stick to the control arm. Everything can be seen in the video.

What do you think is the reason for the 2 handed operation?

The reason is that today's snowflakes can't use tools. Therefore, the tools are rendered relatively unusable because there are too many security settings of all kinds. There is no need for two-handed operation on such a slow-moving log splitter. Working with two hands is difficult and very annoying.
