That word he’s talking about just sounds like a paradoxical state of mind a creator is constantly in: a state of radical satisfaction and dissatisfaction with one’s work. The two feelings seem to occur simultaneously. In other words, a creator is satisfied with what has been done (e.g., the shape that the work is taking) but also is dissatisfied because the areas of potential improvements, in the artist’s eyes, riddle the whole work.

You absolutely nailed it. The perfectionists curse. Something can always be improved. Thats why a true creator can never rest unless the creation is perfect, which is almost never the case. Says alot if God did rest on the 6th day - which would make even this sinful world perfect in his eyes or worthy of saving beyond a devised punishment - for which he sent Jesus Christ: to save ALL men eventually - regardless of how wicked, but after a time of trial and purification: God accepts nothing short of perfection for his creation and impurities will be removed: each and every being saved - even the fallen angels eventually.

I am just impressed by the amount of work that has gone into making this blade and a stunning video with it. When you compare it to other videos like alec steels yours are miles ahead. Much less boisterous, more mature and artistic! Just extremy loving the whole atmosphere it has, i can only hope my workshop has the same kind :D

Awesome Video! I‘ve been waiting for this for 6 Months and got to see how it all started! When I first came to visit Floris Postmes I just wanted to learn a little more about blacksmithing. But I came home having the knowledge how to make my own damascus, knowing a lot more about knifemaking in general, a bag full of damascus offcuts Floris gave me and I even made a wonderful new friend! It’s such a pleasure to see how the work we put into making the damascus is absolutely worth it. The fact that he’s produced his own music is incredible! There are knifemaking KZbinrs with millions of views who just make a shitty video every week and go for quantity instead of quality... it’s a shame that Floris isn‘t one of the big players.
