Hey I been watching you videos and taught about getting the x2hr for cyberpunk2077, but am not 2 sure based on you reviews on what amp/dac I should get. On one end you recommend the jds labs atom amp for more volume, and on the other you recommend the sound blaster x6 as well as describing it to be future proof if I ever decide to get a headphones that need 600 ohm. The thing is am leaning to the sound blaster x6 because its future proof, but I wanna know if it will be good for the x2hr

Killing it, love your videos! I've been diving deep into the headphone world, started with just trying to get good audio for games but music quickly followed and looking for the next best thing... down the audio rabbit hole I go... That plus the girlfriend doesn't like when I have my Stereo setup too loud (at least on my speakers they're a lot more dynamic at higher volumes so I'm always turning it up). Headphones I can turn it up! Plus it seems like we're in the golden age of headphone amps and quality DACs at decent prices.

For the record, Mayflower ARC MK2 DOES have Input for Mixing, actually is the only one that can mix Digital with Analog signal. Is in the back, if you have an Interface for your mic connect there the Mic monitoring output and you can hear your voice in the Arc Mix with the game audio. On PS5 or XBSX you can feed there the Game Chat audio, and get game audio on the optical input using a Audio HDMI Extractor. Pretty cool.

Thank you for this and alll of your other reviews, I have been enjoying them. I had a question if you know the answer that would be great. I have the AKG k701 headphones running through my Denon AVR X 1200w recevier, would having the Hel hooked up make that much of a difference in sound quality compared to having the headphones just being driven by my receiver? Right now I use it for gaming with my Xbox, so I have optical out from the xbox to the receiver and then the receiver is set to pure direct so the Atmos dolby or stereo is fed straight from the xbox and I have a small earbud mic plugged into the controller for chat.

I just got into the whole DAC/amp scene. I've always just used a dedicated internal sound card in my PC. Your video convinced me to try the Hel as my first one. I hope it sounds better than my creative Soundblaster AE-5. I'm using 32ohm headphones so i hope it's not overkill.

I have the Fulla 2, and the previous Mayflower ARC - Fulla for portability, and ARC for mic input on my main gaming rig. Headphones I use between them are the AKG K7XX and Senheiser HD6XX. For a stronger desktop setup would I benefit from the Hel or ARC MK2 ?

I still just use my OL dac and Jds labs atom and don’t really feel the need to upgrade but I am interested in trying the arc 2 to see if there is a difference in sound

There's not. You're good where you are. There is NOTHING wrong with the OL/Atom stack. The only thing you would get is the bass dsp - which is really only usable in specific cases (and the portability aspect of course). The Atom is dollar-for-dollar arguably the best amp out there.
