Thank you kindly! I'm enjoying it very much. Also, I'm giving a lot of thought to the idea of putting a vid out on playing by ear. You had some great suggestions earlier; some great ideas.

@@JonathanMilam1 If you use any of my ideas, it will cost you 25 cents. :-) If you are considering this, it might not be worth it from a financial point of view using only KZbin revenue. However, if you kept track of everything and added a little move work, a kindle book might make it worthwhile. Back when I was working on it, a friend who teaches, suggested I use empty circles and filled in circles to show the fingering. If you do this, I promise to buy the first book.

I have always liked Schilke's step bore designs. Your sound is great! 👍 I have the Schilke Handcraft which has a .468 bore at the second slide and a very large broad bell. It is very much like the Martin Committee Handcraft that Mr. Schilke worked on developing.

I’ve never played a Handcraft, so I’m jealous. They are beautiful horns, and their bell looks big and awesome. :) Thanks for commenting!

@@JonathanMilam1 Hi Jonathan, one more thing about the Schilke Handcraft. Mr. Schilke retained the original bell mandrel and leadpipe reamer that was used to make the original Martin Committee Handcraft back in the late 1930's. This tooling is used on the Schilke Handcraft. My horn has the copper bell. This horn also has the same leadpipe venturi and bell tail diameter. This is about as close to a Martin Committee Handcraft as you can get in a modern horn.

Great horn. I can't remember why, but I did NOT keep this horn long enough. I had a Schilke B6 at the time, and I'd always read it could be too big of a blow, I think I was a bit fearful of it. Anyway, it did not feel too big to me, and I let it get away. Funny, but I really prefer the 'B' line of Schilke's to the S horns. Of course Jon Faddis sounds pretty good on his S... :)

Super review, Jonathan! What mic are you using these days? Audio is very good!

I used a Cascade FatHead, Gold, for this one. I usually use an AKG A420. Similar, but this gets a slightly mellower tone, I think. Both are great mics. :)
