Schindler 330A Elevators at Home2 Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh Cranberry, PA

These are nice Schindler 330A elevators, although since they were installed in 2014, they could have easily (and should have) been made 3300s. Their doors have a black powder coat on every floor, including the lobby. These elevators do require a room key to ride. Please note that this was done WITH permission. I would ADVISE AGAINST riding locked elevators, EVEN in hotels, without permission from the front desk. The vast majority of the time, they will let you ride.

The Home2 Suites McCandless location has some Otis Gen2s w/ newer Series 2 fixtures. Luckily those 1s aren’t room-keyed off un-like these 1s. They also were my very 1st newer late-2012 & later Gen2s.

As far as I know that’s what they’re called. Who knows… I’m pretty sure they aren’t called series 7 though.

My opinion is/was that it really is called series 7, and somewhere along the line, someone made up the name Newer Series 2/4, and everyone started believing it.

@@AdazElevatorz Someone or multiple people back in probably 2013 made up the "series 7" term, then supposedly Julien or someone got info from an Otis tech on Facebook about the "newer series 2," "newer series 4," & M2 terms. But that's just what I've heard & never have I seen the original source.
