This show also worked because Dan Levy took the time to know his cast. He actually listened to dreams that they had once and made them a reality.He is a genuine,caring person. He made a family out of actors and values the craft and the humanity of performing. He makes a difference in the way he approaches a shallow industry. Thank god.

What strikes me is really how wonderful they seem as people. There isn't a conceited bit in this crew. Also, the chemistry is unmistakable. They really like each other so that translates into the show so well.

Each member of the Rose family was fake shallow. While living in the wealthy world they developed these character flaws because they'd been seeking love but not finding it. So after the money was gone they realized the love they needed all along was from one another. This is the most endearing show I have ever watched. There aren't many (if any) 30-minute comedies that have epic character arcs within the first five seasons, and the last season is literally just a bitter-sweet treat! I am so sad to see it go but happy we had it.

All the Emmys were well deserved. I’ve never liked a show as much as Schitt’s Creek. I’ve never felt as safe as when I’m in its world. I’ve never known love as free to grow as when I’m watching it. It’s not been an easy few months for any of us, but knowing that it will always be there for us makes everything ok. Thanks to Dan, Eugene and all the cast, crew and writers for creating this perfect gem of a show that has shown us how beautiful the world could be. We will forever be indebted to them for the joy they have given us in 22 minute segments and I wish them nothing but the best of luck with all future endeavours. The decision to make Schitt’s Creek a homophobia and bigotry free zone was a huge paradigm shift. It modelled how beautiful it would be to live in a place where David’s Pansexuality, Patrick being Gay, Ronnie being a Lesbian and Jake being Bi/Poly/Hedonistic are what they are and didn’t need an anxiety ridden episode where it was discussed and then accepted. Dan will never truly understand what he has given us or how much this beautiful creation has meant to us. I have never laughed or loved harder than when I have been watching Schitt’s Creek, the characters are hilarious but heartfelt, they learn and grow throughout the 6 seasons and we grew and learned to be a family as well as love with them.

This is one of the only shows that I've ever seen that had an amazing finale. There are so many great shows that just blew their series finale. Schist's Creek was perfect. It was touching but not maudlin, and still very funny, and the characters all had believable and appropriate endings. I loved that Alexa didn't end up with some man, that she was going off into her future with new-found confidence on her own. (Why do shows always think that the female character who is single and strong has to suddenly find love at the very end?! Even Peggy on Mad Men!)
@awesome_artemis67104 жыл бұрын
That was so great! Although, Alexis and Ted were a cute couple, it truly emphasized the growth of the characters. At the beginning, Alexis had to have a company all the time and had history with loads of boyfriends, meaning that she couldn't stand being on her own. At the end, she grew to realise that she can do things for herself and enjoy her company. Always a disaster when all the ladies have to have a relationship/get married/become pregnant (like in The Big Bang Theory, where Penny clearly didn't want to have children yet became pregnantat the very end).

I'm so glad that I discovered this show. It is so life affirming and funny, yet with serious undertones, that I was hooked after the first episode. I will watch it again, probably many times. The writing and acting were so excellent! I was really happy to watch Eugene after seeing him many years ago on 2nd City ( I hope I'm not wrong )..So nice to watch everyone talking about the show.

I've watched all episodes of it twice and now I'm ready for round three. I'd love to know if I'm the only one who noticed something with every interaction between Johnny and Twyla. Every time they had dialogue and the camera was on Johnny, there was a different sparkle in his eyes when he spoke to her. I'm guessing Sarah in real life is daddy's little girl. GREAT show that makes you laugh and cry at the same time. And as discussed in this interview, it truly taught the Rose's how to be a family. They were so out of touch with reality prior to moving to Schitt's Creek. Brilliant all around,

Love the show. The casting of the show was just super and perfect. They all played their roles so natural as if they embodied their characters perfectly and beautifully. Can't get enough of the show and particularly love the dialogues. Kudos and wish there will be a Sequel. Please do it. Your huge and ardent fans would be waiting.

Ok. I know I am behind the curve here, but just finished Season 6 + the production interviews afterwards. Until that moment it never dawned on me that this was an LGBTQ favorite. I saw it all so naturally as family and community love. At first, I felt dumb, and now I feel happy. The message of love And resilience, and compassion came through loud and clear without any white noise of judgement 👏👏👏Bravo.

Wow Catherine is really nice. It’s weird hearing her be a lovely human after watching her play Moira😂

15:16 - The “Hi!” when she’s been talking and catches Eugene looking at her. 32:06 Checking to make sure they’re okay after she contradicts him. Ugh, I can’t with these two. Their chemistry is off the charts.
