The Eurovision Song Contest 2007 was the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Helsinki, Finland, following the country's victory at the 2006 contest with the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle), the contest was held at the Hartwall Areena, and consisted of a semi-final on 10 May, and a final on 12 May 2007. The two live shows were presented by Finnish television presenter Jaana Pelkonen and musician and TV-host Mikko Leppilampi. In addition, Krisse Salminen acted as guest host in the green room, and reported from the crowds at the Senate Square.
Forty-two countries participated in the contest - three more than the previous record of thirty-nine, that took part in 2005. The EBU decided to put aside its limit of 40 countries, which would have meant excluding some countries using a ranking order scheme. The Czech Republic and Georgia participated for the first time this year, with Montenegro and Serbia taking part as independent nations for the first time. Austria and Hungary both returned, after their absence from the previous edition. Meanwhile, Monaco decided not to participate, despite initially confirming participation. Monaco has not competed in Eurovision Song Contest ever since.
The winner was Serbia with the song "Molitva", performed by Marija Šerifović and written by Vladimir Graić and Saša Milošević Mare. This was Serbia's first victory in the contest, coincidentally the first year it competed as an independent nation. It was also the first winning song entirely performed in a country's native language since Israel's "Diva" in 1998. Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and Bulgaria rounded out the top five. Further down the table, Belarus achieved their best placing to date, finishing sixth. Meanwhile, Ireland achieved its worst placing in the contest, finishing twenty-fourth (last place). Of the "Big Four" countries, Germany placed the highest, finishing nineteenth.

While I don't know about Serbia and Ukraine, it's sure to Lucas put Bulgaria at the bottom, if I understand a little bit of Lucas's taste. (Bulgaria was also my last in 2007, 2008 and 2009; lol.)

Bulgaria was my number 1 this year; it's terrific! I mostly remember that this year all Western European countries complained how unfairly they were treated, while basically Germany was the only one that sent a decent song.

Molitva - awesome song and performance - a worthy winner - absolutely love that song - only other good song was from Ukraine - those are the only 2 songs from this year that I still listen to on my Spotify Eurovision playlist - I have a whole Eurovision playlist of songs from 1974 (when I first watched it) onwards - I'm very particular and no others from this year made the cut because they are boring

One of best and most deserved winners.) 2- Dancing Lasha Tumbai 🇺🇦 (2022, Still the best troll entry so far.) 3- Frauen Reiger'n die Welt 🇩🇪 (I love jazz and i don't understand why is this masterpiece at the bottom.) 4- Questa Notte 🇱🇻 (This song makes me feel powerful. This doesn't make sense to me.) 33- Ajde Kroči 🇲🇪 (Bad but still better than Andorra.) 34- The Worrying Kind 🇸🇪 (It's a good thing Måns didn't partipicate this year. Sweden defiently would be my last.) 35- Vampires Are Alive 🇨🇭 (Pretty bad song with horrible music and live performance. Nothing more to say.) 36- L'amour à la Française 🇫🇷 (Something I don't understand what this guy is talking about, but I know it's crap.) 37- Visionary Dream 🇬🇪 (Her voice is terrible. Even if I try to force it, it doesn't feel good. And also song isn't unique. So there isn't reason to top this song.) 38- Water 🇧🇬 (Even if I love ethnic songs, I can't stand her voice. Although the infrastructure is not bad, Elitsa ruins everything. It's not just about the sound, she often misses the music in the performance and it drove me so crazy. In short, there's no reason why I shouldn't hate this song.) 39- Salvem En Mon 🇦🇩 (I don't know why this is so overrated by fans. The worst entry of Andorra in my opinion. The song is very bland and they couldn't turn it off on stage and made the song even worse. I'm sure there are better songs Andorra has sended but this is definitely not the best.) 40- Work Your Magic 🇧🇾 (I can't stand this man's voice. I guess it sounds better if I fart. The instrumental that could have been nice ruined it with that shitty voice. And the performance is extra shitty. Everything in this song is shitty, i think.) 41- Push The Button 🇮🇱 (I'm giving a political message and it's funny. Give me attention. JUST GTFO.) 42- Shake It Up Shekerim 🇹🇷 (As a Turkish, our all entries between 2005 and 2007 sound so cringy to me and this is the worst one. This could be the worst song we've ever sent. How did this shitty song 4th?)
