Well, that will be a lesson to Josh and Melissa to not judge a murderous book by its happy cover.

The first time I saw that Sweet Charity number, it was in a Green Day documentary, where they overlaid the audio from. “Jesus of suburbia.“ I’m so happy to finally know where it’s from!

Another awesome breakdown! Thank you! I think all of us are feeling sad about how there are only two more episodes left, and I'm hoping that in Season 3, they stick around in Smhmicago for another six episodes.

You don't think they'll end up in the East Village for SchmRENT, where a bunch of Les Schmleserables and Schmilittle Shop of Horrors shenanigans ensue?

Loving the season and your breakdowns! Thanks for the videos and the nerding out! As the season reaches a close, I can't help but wonder what era of musicals will be focused on next. Perhaps focusing on megamusicals, Webber, Boublil/Schönberg, Menken/Ashman, Rice, jukebox musicals? Oh the possibilities! Also, the "Rhythm of Life" shout-out made me very happy. Kind of a deep cut and a welcomed one

It's gotta be the 80's and 90's next! Megamusicals! DISNEY ON BROADWAY! So many possibilities!

Mr. Blight scooping the mashed potatoes with the cleaver soooo hilarious! 😂😂 I don’t know how he didn’t cut himself because he ends up putting the sharp edge in his mouth first

I guess Melissa will have to learn to watch all the musicals, and not just her preferred ones, in order to be genre savvy when trapped in a musical world.
@jeffscotcarey Жыл бұрын
Yea she is pretty savvy, even tho she says she prefers the earlier style of musicals. It's a stretch to think that, at no time in her life did she become, at least aware of the basics, of the plot. Even if she never saw it, since she left early when she was a kid, she would have heard how the story goes at some point. Josh says, "even I know that Sweeney Todd kills people..." so I don't buy that Mel hadn't heard about the plot ever, even if she didn't ever see or listen to the show.

@@jeffscotcarey Yeah. These days especially with pop culture and the internet, no one is completely ignorant or uninformed when talking the basics of a media.

Terrific episode. Really liked the comparison of the two Jesus figures in Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell. Also liked the costumes you guys wore this week.

I was just throwing something on in the background while I gamed, but all that stuff you were saying about Jesus Christ Superstar made me switch screens, what you were saying was just so salient and it's easy to tell that you guys love musicals and know what the hell you are talking about. Nicely done!

Did anyone else hear some of “Elegance” from Hello, Dolly in “Good Enough to Eat?” I know it wasn’t one of the direct influences, but there were some vibes I couldn’t shake.

Another great episode only slightly soiled by the fact that there's only two more. Also I'm hoping Jaime and Ann's song next episode is a reprise of Bustin' Out. Idky i want that so bad but its in the realm of possibilities.
