There will be continuity between ground and neutral if it's connected to the main panel, because they are bonded in the main panel.

Main panel: bonding screw enabled = ground & neutral bar must have continuity Sub panel: bonding screw removed = ground & neutral bar must NOT have continuity

@@alejandrogalarza3147 There will be continuity if the subpanel is connected to the main even with the bonding screw removed, because they are bonded there. But there should be no continuity if not connected to main panel.

@@Hazar1337 It is correct, electrically neutral and ground are connected at the origin, but that screw changes the direction through which the fault currents pass, like the change of train tracks, if we leave the union screw connected in the sub panel, all fault currents will also return through the neutral behind the sub panel instead of just return for the ground wire.

I’d cut the main and i stall it.

Hi In my 2 phase disconnect I have no neutral so can I bond the bar with green screw and land my ground wires on it from line and load sides?
@OdangFication Жыл бұрын
Technically yes, morally and legally no because your neutral carries unused power back to the panel and then to the earth, if bonded to another ground you'd possibly create an energized ground loop since you'd have a complete circuit between the neutral and the ground.
