The fort looked awesome! It is always pretty wild to see the remains of buildings and envision what was there before. Not a bad anchorage either!

Fort Frederica is so pretty as was the whole cruise to it! I love the history you gave. Ollie and the yogurt container was priceless! You two are so wonderful to watch and listen to…you always seem so calm (I’m sure there are stressful times but you seem to handle everything with such grace). Thanks for all the hard work you put into your filming! Happy and safe travels you three!

Very interesting to learn what life was like at Fort Frederica, beautiful place. What was the tick count on Ollie. I always used Seresto flea/tick collars they work super. Don't like insecticide chews or tablets inside my dogs. Ticks are going to get worse up north also. Hope you weather out the bad weather OK. Aloha!
@SchoandJo2 жыл бұрын
Oooh the tick count was insane, easily 100 ticks (not exaggerating). Cool to know those collars work - that would definitely be less invasive than the medicine! Aloha!

I am so glad I found your channel! The loop is one of my dreams in the future when I semi-retire and seeing you guys do it, showing the good and the bad is awesome. We have 2 pups who will be getting trained on boating this summer on our pontoon in preparation for full time living, as well as improving my boating skills. If you guys decide to do the Lake Champlain portion, let me know and I would love to take all 3 of you out for lunch or supper! I posted a Harbor Guide on the AGLCA forum, and as a small time KZbinr myself, I appreciate the work you put into your videos, as well as the bloop's.

Sweet! Thanks for checking us out 🤙 sounds like a great plan re: pups and training them on the pontoon. Ollie loves the boat but doesn’t love doing business on the boat haha. Thanks for the offer for Lake Champlain and best of luck getting out there! Cheers!

May I ask a question? Why do you always tow your dinghy when you have a rack for it? Thanks and I have very much enjoyed your videos of the loop.
@SchoandJo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eric! The biggest reason is that we have to use our dinghy a minimum of 2 times a day so the time it takes us to hoist and bring it down kind of gets in the way. However just recently, the past week or so we’ve been hoisting it more so who knows what we’ll do going forward 😁

Hello, I'm really enjoying your nature vids. I don't know if you can find any eucalyptus oil. If you mix some of that with cider vinegar in a spray bottle, it's an effective tick repellent. I've heard of people using cedar oil too. Also if you get into an area with lots of flies, you can rub lime juice on your skin and the flies won't land or bite you. They hate the bitter taste. It might work for no seeums too. Your Cumberland series was really enjoyable

Oh neat - thats an interesting / more natural way to deal with them! Thanks for the tips!!

I really enjoy your videos - great content! Have you decided which route you will take through the Great Lakes? I have a few recommendations on Lake Erie that I want to post in your Google Form, but you may not travel the Erie Canal or the Welland Canal on your route.
@SchoandJo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! We haven't fully made the decision just yet, it'll be a gametime decision! If we made it now, we would travel up the half-eerie -> oswego canal -> trent-severn. But if you have recommendations any where else feel free to share those too! It could influence our decision OR if you opt in to us forwarding them then others can benefit! Cheers 😁

Must have been pretty tough for the settlers but they did have land and freedom despite having to fight the Spanish for it. I believe the name came from the Prince of Wales. I wonder why it fell into ruins after the war (British / Spanish) finished?
@SchoandJo2 жыл бұрын
For sure! That’s interesting regarding the prince of Wales, not sure why it degraded but there was a huge fire that raved the town. Maybe they just didn’t feel like rebuilding as the main mission was accomplished

The states of Georgia and South Carolina both have an issue with Lyme disease which is transmitted by deer ticks. Both humans and dogs can get the disease and it can cause a lot of pain and physical difficulties. I don’t want to give any incorrect information so If you have not done so, you guys should probably read up on the disease, it’s symptoms and preventive care.
