Thank you so much for your video! Very helpful. I made the mistake of buying a 15.5 inch Audio-Technica Condenser Microphone (BP4071) for my new camcorder and didn't even think of it, but it is in the shot unless I zoom up quite a bit.. I wanted the cmc641 for indoor recording.. But a shotgun mic for outside. I think I will just get the CMIT5u and use for both indoor and outdoor.. The only thing I noticed was close up recording sounded terrible with cmit5u vs 641. But 2 feet away they both sound the same to me..

The Schoeps cmit 5u is a fantastic microphone ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - not only for voice recording in the studio/field but also for recording acoustic instruments. In many ways it has the same sound/capabilities of a large diaphragm mic.

I think not many own a variety of mic and compare them haha. But actually if you don’t need the ability to swap between full range or high pass, the mini cmit maybe even nicer haha

I'm hoping to buy the CMIT 5U soon but the only concern I have is how prone it is to moisture, very little people seem to cover that question, I'm from Scotland so it's constantly raining or humid and i'm an outdoor shooter mainly in poor weather conditions, do you think it's sturdy enough for my climate or is there a better option for me in terms of excellent quality and protection!

I think DPA and Sennheiser are more stable in humid environment. But my friend used my MiniCMIT for a few shoots and dont have any issues. We are based in Singapore and its all year round really humid. I think unless its bathroom or really long period in a rainforest or water directly getting on it then its a issue.

@@petero1068 it requires a special amp that outputs more power and a different standard. Only 8 series for sound device and high end recorder has it if I’m not wrong

Oh with the adapter yes it will work. If just the 2u will need a special aes42 mic pre amp which only exist in high end recorders

I’m shooting a short documentary inside an artists studio and do not have budget for a boom operator so I have to mount a mic onto my c200 when following the subject. Do you think it would be better to go with something like the CM641 or stick with the NTG3 I already own?
