It's very interesting, I found SCH way easier than SGE for dungeons, on par with WHM for me personally, no issues keeping them up while I can't say the same for SGE since a lot of the dubgeons had the whole party taking lots of damage learning new mechanics and SGE was hit or miss with running out of gas for me where SCH, I can hard carry if I need to.

So couple things I've learned (Thanks MoMo,love your content too) was to have an Adlo on yourself ready to deploy when you have the time to cast it between pulls for instant shields and the other thing is to use Dissapation towards the end of pull to refresh your aetherflow stacks while Aetherflow its self is on cooldown. This way your fairy will be back up by the time your tank has gathered the next set of mobs. Both of these tips ate dungeon dependent but can be incredibly useful

Tower of Zot is absolutely the worst when it comes to healing. 25% of the time, I kinda expect it to go badly. I don't have the boosted heals and shields at Lv. 85 nor do i have Expedient for the dmg reduction. EnW is generally more brutal with damage, but that dungeon is especially brutal with wall-to-wall pulls. And it doesn't help that I don't usually feel good when playing as a healer. I try to have a plan, but when the plan isn't enough, my brain blanks out T-T Same with Sage.

Boy, do I feel this. I also really try to have a plan and 'rehearse' what I should do if things get out of hand. ... And then when they do I end up panic spamming anyway...

I stopped playing sage, heck healer altogether after constantly wiping wall to wall pulls. I swear I should be able to handle this(on this dungeon)

Just did the first EW dungeon in random duty finder. Tank was a GBR, pulled 2-3 packs at a time. Tank didn't use a single CD except like one time when he was already at like 20% or lower health. Used all my scholar CDs to try to keep him up, but ended up just spamming Adlo. One time, the tank popped Rampart at the end of a trash pull when there was literally ONE mob left at like 10% health. So I said "It would be better if you pop your defensives earlier :)". Tank /slapped me... Got two commendations on that run.

Not sure if I missed you mentioning it, but generally you want to be applying biolysis during tank pulling phases to make aoe phases a. faster b. killing them within tank cd/your ogcd windows so the whole run feels smoother.

Something I don’t normally see mentioned: Using Fey Illumination at the beginning when the pull starts for your pre-Adlo. Fey Illumination boosts the healing magic potency (the outgoing heals) of the caster, not the receiver. Sounds like a great ability to start with. As the fairy is in range, that’s a decent 10% boost to your Adlo shield. And if the shield gets removed during the pull, you can Swiftcast a slightly boosted Adlo. (I did some testing, but FI on the chocobo didn’t boost healing power, but FI on me did. It’s a shame that the fairy can’t be affected by FI because it would boost Embrace (spell). I think it might be an oversight.)

Interesting video! I absolutely adore Expedient, every time I go into a Roulette and don't have it I'm sad. It's especially great for those groups that refuse to get inside Soil. Funnily enough, I've had to use dissipation defensively multiple times this xpac, I ended up moving it on my bars because I've been pulling it out so much haha I don't know if it's just an issue of undergeared tanks, though certainly I've had multiple Expert roulettes with people who didn't pay any attention to mechanics so I've been reduced to Lustrate or even just Adlo after using literally everything else.

This was my experience as well, honestly. Without fault I find myself in dungeons constantly spamming adlo and expedient on the tank, and literally pulling out every other trick in my hat just to keep the tank barely alive. I don't understand where these ideas come from, that you don't need adlo and just pop an expedient from time to time and just heal with Sacred Soil and the passive fairy healing. And the idea that Scholar is a heal over time healer also urks me. Fey Illumination barely heals in my experience. I find myself on the same ground when it comes to Kardia. It is barely noticeable unless you literally got a crit eukraisian diagnosis and both Haima and Panhaima on your tank, which seems to be the only time where you can properly heal the tank with a Sorteria buffed Kardia, and even then all the shields run out before I am able to properly heal the tank. And all that even though I got the max available equipment fully slotted with materia.

Does fey illum affect whispering dawn? I been using both thinking illum would make the hot stronger.

Sadly it doesn't. Fey Illumination increases _healing magic_ potency, and our fairy's Embrace is a 'healing ability' as far as the game engine is concerned.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking SCH is more of a regen healer than a barrier healer. I'd rather use my GCDs for Broil than for Adlo/Succor, unless necessary. At higher levels, you can use Seraph for oGCD heals/shields while you Broil hahah.

Gcd aside, is Recitation on Adlo better than Excog?

I'd say Adlo because even though excog is better value in potency, if you are dealing with an antsy tank it'll make them nervous trying to get excog off sometimes which means wasted potency and potentially tank dps as the tank will deem you as inconsistent. I treat excogitation as my means of emergency value. Place it then leave it and if you miss a heal it'll be there for you. If you rely on it then you show yourself as inconsistent healer and thus bring in that worry component, the only time I use excog with recite is during the start with no aether points.

I started Sage, it's kinda polarizing, it's ok but in big pulls it has trouble to be consistent, if you don't have a paladin or warrior and you don't use your CDs perfectly you wipe... Welp I'm a AST main so maybe I have to get used to it, that's why I see a fall off of Sage players, it's not easy to keep up sometimes

I love how everyone says healers should dps. But they are … much to the point of wiping out parties due to minimal healing tactics or putting extreme pressure on the tank and their mitigation skills. However, Every vid I have seen is like 10 minutes of why they should healers dps regardless….So can you just make it a footnote on the bottom on the video going forward to spare the speech

I think recitation + excog is a better pair, since its a free resource and gives you a higher potency but what I love about this class is that it will always gives you an option depending on the situation and availability of your resources.

Healing is a priority not DPS You DPS as much as you can room in but not as a priority.

Yeah I agree. Though I think he means after healing. Similar to how the top priority for DPS jobs isnt doing damage, bit rather staying alive.

It's a balancing act. Keeping the party alive is the bigger picture and the priority. While you bring the heals when the heals are needed, you also bring as much DPS as you can bring to prevent the need to heal more down the line.

/micon Sacred Soil /ac "Sacred Soil" I just plop that right on the tank, when he stops. I still love my SCH for dungeons, but I LOVE SGE in raids, even if I have to solo heal, which I have quite a few times. For SGE /micon Eukrasia /ac "Eukrasia" /wait /ac "Diagnosis" For raids, make another one but instead of , put . Also it can be made the same way for the AOE one (no target of course). I also made the same one for Haima, and Taurochole.
