As a lil fyi, the first 5 bosses are from some of the various editions of the Ork codex, but the last 2 are just some fun characters I wrote up, which I thought were in keeping with the whole "slightly dysfunctional warboss" theme.

This does such a great job building on and paying homage to my favorite original (and very experimental) episode! All while sticking with the tone you’ve built over the channels lifetime. I would like to see more experimental stuff, but I’m so happy this episode wasn’t lost to us forever!
@Scholarslore2 ай бұрын
Haha thank you, I was VERY close to remaking the entire thing in the older style, with those small animated bits, and I even had an idea for the whole character sequence of the warboss losing David somewhere, before grabbing the new narrator, but to be honest I always found that old episode so hard to watch back! The voices weren't quite right, and animation was sloppy, and I reckon if I kept making that sort of thing, it would have gotten better, but it just wasn't the direction I chose. In terms of experimental, I do have a musical number planned for the nearish future, so hopefully that'll be nice and different from the usual stuff 👀

I'd love a video where you share the technical intricacies of working with an AI voice model. How much work is there? What control do you have over the voice? Intonations? How many times do you have to re-generate sections? How do you cut some sequences? Also, WAAAAAAAA was hilarious
@Scholarslore2 ай бұрын
Hey, yeah that's a video that has been on my mind more and more recently. To answer some of your questions now though: - In terms of overall time/work spent on the voice side of things, the script for this video was 6.5k words, and I think it took around 4.5-5 hours to do? Can't remember exactly, but often I'll match 10-15 minutes of usable audio to 1 hour of work. - To a certain degree I can control the intonations/emotions/pacing/timing/accent, and all of those are either done with phonetic spelling, or a specific syntax to the AI tool (Elevenlabs) - I would say I regenerate each section an average of 3 times. Some I'm happy with straight away, whereas others might take 10 generations to get a good sounding result (but in those cases, if its taking that long then my writing might be a bit scuffed, and I'll rewrite the sentences until it sounds better to my ears). - I cut sections if the voice sounds bored/monotone/overly enthusiastic/oddly energetic, and I mean really anything which I believe to be "out of character" for a calm narrator. That'll include the model slipping into an American accent, or suffering from any other audio bugs. But in general I'll generate these paragraph by paragraph, then as I listen back, I'll chop and change individual sentences (doing individual words doesn't work since the AI models are awful at short generations, need at least a sentence), and I'll just repeat that process over a few hours until I've got the entire script in audio format, I'll do a couple quick tweaks to it to make it sound cleaner, and that'll be about it. If you've got any more questions feel free to ask, hopefully this was sort of helpful. Again, I do want to do a tutorial video, but I've no idea when that would be. Oh and yes, the AI recital of any WAAAGH is just so ridiculous
