@@turtlewithasword42 A 1994 study of 269 child sexual abuse cases found the molester was gay/lesbian in less than 1% of cases. I always thought having same sex parents was wrong, until I read my local newspaper and they brought up the question. “ Do you think an adopted child cares whether they have two dads or two mums? No, all they care about is having two parents that love them in a safe home” That little article completely flipped my view on the matter and I am glad I took the time to read it. Every child deserves a safe home that they feel loved in and their parents sexuality is totally irrelevant.

Also pure irony, after finding out I'm aromantic, asexual (at the age of 22 because I never heared about this bevore) I can only laugh about the "sexualising kids" argument. I remember beeing pushed by the teacher to saying I want a woman later in life in elementary school when we talked about what we wish for in our lifes.

@@J_to_the_Fthat teacher was gross. If that's how she actually phrased it, yuck. There's a difference between "I want a wife" and "I want a woman". And that's just half of it.
@J_to_the_F
@J_to_the_F 7 күн бұрын
@@autisticwitch7581 It was rather phrased like "but don't you wanna marry? Just imagine, you'd be all alone otherwise...". And at that time marrying just ment a hetrero relationship from what I experienced to exist and I also knew that it ment a relationship in a sexual intimate way (without knowing details though). But I think this shows what lies deyond this. It's not an active "we have to force this hetero, allo, cis way of ilving on children", but rather a "there is no other concept in our minds of what could be in the lifes of anyone or how anyone could live a fullfilled life". The effect is the same non the less, but I think that's the reason why this "sexualisation of kids" works in the minds of queerphobes. They can't imagine what it would mean if there wasn't just one option. And the whole system supports this impression on a deep level. Even I don't have the feeling that I can just be happy when I get in a relationship with an other aro ace person. It's like there is no field for your happieness on a board game and you have to put in the work to figgure out that the board game is just the script of society and the happieness you feel can be there. Sorry for the long rent XD

@J_to_the_F Same here. I find the "sexualizing minors" argument so ridiculous. I'm aroace and probably the worst candidate to sexualize someone. But the number of people who tried to do that to me by asking me about my love life, encouraging me to sleep with someone, or asking me if I do it to myself, is enormous. And almost all of them were hetero.
@baseder514
@baseder514 Күн бұрын
Funny how people talk about that sexualizing minors is "ridiculous", with their argument being that they are asexual and not affected by it. Now THAT is ridiculous. Plus, I have seen one to many children being dressed inappropriately and paraded around at pride marches to agree with that argument. It is very easy to make a child do something if they are surrounded by people who do the same thing, sexualization is no exception. But I do agree with the original poster on one point, there are some majorly inappropriate books being allowed to be shown to children, which should have never even come close to them.

Homosexuality is basically being advertised at this point. It has gone beyond equality and has become equity, yet they are getting more of the spotlight still. All I want schools to do, is teach children how to learn, how to be critical and then actually learn them stuff so that they can fend for themselves in the world. And since children from age 6 to 12 are at the prime of the forming of their brain, their time at school should be spend appropriately, thus learning to learn and become critical. It shouldn't be filled with things that they themselves have no use for at that age. Teaching them stuff about lgbtq is not gonna help them in any way. Would it be handy for them to know? Maybe a slight bit, but since there are much more important matters, it should not be the focus.

I’m a trans woman raised in a conservative area by transphobic parents. I’ve never felt like a man or wanted to act like a man but for the first 16 years of my life I was forced to. I remember people realizing I was depressed by 2nd grade and getting put into therapy after I couldn’t stop crying over the smallest of things. Being trans I naturally have a lot of feminine mannerisms (sitting like a girl etc.) which I later got bullied for a lot. I got extremely depressed around 16 and I struggled to not end it all. There were weeks where I don’t know how I survived every day. I ended up coming out as gay and opening up a tiny bit. I was still very afraid to be myself even around my most accepting friends. After that I was still depressed but things weren’t nearly as bad anymore. Around when I turned 18 I finally accepted that I was trans and came out to a few close friends who were not transphobic at all. Because I had spent my entire life basically living a lie I still struggle to really open up and be myself, even when I know these people would like me even more if I were to fully be myself. But I’ve finally gotten over my depression and life doesn’t seem so bad. If I were so much as told that trans people exist and aren’t just demons I would’ve known I was trans immediately. If people accepted me for who I was I never would’ve gotten to the brink of suicide. Lgbtq+ kids are victims not monsters. You can’t make somebody gay or trans. People who try to cast us to the shadows need to realize more people than they think are lgbtq and they’re only making those kids scared and depressed. That can lead to but in of itself is not a mental health issue. It's abuse and the kid is in fact a victim. The kid isn't trying to be a victim when the parents victimize them for simply being different. To be so manipulative to comment on such a situation as being just a mental health issue is highly irresponsible and really just evil. I agree with you. I'm also straight but have some good friends who are gay. Plus I'm a Christian and believe the Bible, but I will not stop loving my gay friends, because God says we should love one another. He also said that He is to be the judge over people's lives, not us. I didn't know about this lady before now. I only watched the clip because I thought it might be about Paul Castle's books "The Pengrooms" and I think the other one is called "The very special gift". These books also got flack from some sources.

Most definitely! Let us groom the children by covering their eyes and taking away their free speech while sending them to school - so the next generation is oblivious to everything real in the world. We will have a bunch of stupid people that will be handling us when it’s time for us adults (now) to go to the nursing home. Now that’s a movie I’d like to see! Oh, and by the way, remove all the media everywhere from EVERY one of us that depicts any ‘scary’ situation from kids while keeping the Bible, safe and available to all children in all levels of schools; (which has it ALL) in the worst horrific way ever written by mankind. “And the haters gonna hate hate hate,.,” 🎵 Talk about history repeating itself. And here we go again people. Bravo! A perfect society that’s groomed to HATE 👎
