School bus back seat ride - 2023 IC CE

Some excitement today as I had to pull over to deal with what turns out to be a known false warning alarm. IC CE300 with Cummins ISB, hydraulic brakes, air ride. I tried leaving the window opposite the camera open, but it was still too much wind noise. Next time I'll shut them all as per your suggestions.

I love the backseat rides but do you know what this also means? We should see a Front seat ride and Pre Trip on this bus? I hear it has the new voice as indicated by the Charter Mode alarm. What is your opinion of this new Voice? I think the Front views are so cool we can see everything better.

I always thought the old, kid's voice was cute. I wouldn't mind a synthetic voice, but this plain adult male voice doesn't have any of the character of the old one.

@@yitznewton I know I’m mad about it. Also can we see a front view like you used to do? That would be cool. This male voice also activated when the reds are on. It didn’t say Please Conduct your child search now. Bc the reds have to be on. It has to activate.

But I was wondering I noticed that the dome lights turned themselves on and off automatically and was wondering if that is a state thing that is pre ordered with the bus or if that's something you could probably change in the vehicles computer? I've been trying to see if that's potentially possible but I haven't found nothing.

Hi from England. Who finances school transport in the US; it it the local authority? In the UK local County Councils are responsible for school buses but they don't own or operate any of their own vehicles; instead they contract the routes out to local bus & coach operators who have to tender for them. That's why yellow school buses aren't a thing here - bus companies couldn't afford to have dedicated school buses standing idle most of the day and weekends.

In my experience the funds are allocated by the local school district. Some districts operate their own transportation, others contract it out to companies like the one I work for. Most school bus contractors do school transportation exclusively, although the parent corporation of the largest one until recently also operated a non-school transit company.
