School Bus Conversion Tour in a fully designed 3D program [Sketch Up]. In this video we tour through the entire school bus conversion floor plan and look at how we are going to build the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, full office, and a dinette. After showing what the bus is going to look like when its fully a home we have to get the build done. Hopefully, this video will help you figure out how to design your own skoolie build.

That's funny because I find it to be kind of a waste of space. Maybe that's just because I live in a smaller van, not a bus.

Quick question, why won't you be using the heat for the mini-split? Is that an off-grid issue because of the high electrical use?

Probably the best I've seen. What I would change is instead of the fireplace I might put in a small washer dryer combo and instead of the small fridge I would actually put a regular size fridge

I like the layout. I use a car charger for my laptop. No need to go up to 110v just to drop back down to 19v for the laptop. Think about a desk that hinges up to shut and down as a work area

For lighting, will it be smart lighting that can be controlled by Google Home? Not sure about the dinette. I'm not good at this like you guys, but it seems weird. Will the pantry open into the shower? Will food get wet?

Love the office/bedroom/etc setup. So few seem to have actual workspace. Even if you just plan to work at the table, having a nearby spot for all the other stuff you use when working seems more practical. I’m wondering why the dinette table doesn’t fold against the outside wall - sort of the inside version of your outside table? Maybe because of the window height? Feels like if seated there with the table down, it would be less in the way against the wall than on the sides. But it may just “feel” that way in the rendering.

Great work boys. I had a thought when you were showing us the kitchen layout. While you are just using the rendering, how about seeing how it would look if you had the faux concrete worktop up the wall where your planning on having the knives and stuff. I think it might look cool, and it will accentuate the "waterfall" effect. Just an idea.

Hey there, Great videos... Quick question if you get a sec to respond--- At what point will you install the wood fire stove/heater? I've been confused about installing it earlier or later in the build (later as in a similar point of where your build currently is, or cutting the hole before spray foam gets done and finish install later)...? Cheers..

Just now watching the short bus conversion series. Up to the painting part. For future reference, it’s “not necessary” to prime over the yellow paint!! Primer is to prep and protect the bare metal and aid in proper adhesion of the paint. Wet sanding or super fine grit sanding of the already painted surface along with proper cleaning of dust is all that’s necessary to prep for final paint!! Use primer on the bare metal and bondo/ durabond/ fiberglass work. Will save time and money in the future!

A well thought out and efficient plan. I do, however, have a concern about weight distribution. It appears the vast majority of the weight will be on the driver's side and very little on the passenger side. Will that matter? I really like the plan and layout but am concerned that with all the weight on one side it may have a negative affect on driving, tire wear, suspension, etc.

Have you figured out your desk pull out? I immediately thought of my dining table which is an old English card table where the two leaves tuck under the main surface and then pull out. The main table top is loose because the wood mechanics of the design lift the main surface up while the leaf is being pulled out and then it drops back down when the leaf is fully deployed. If you want some photos of it I'm happy to snap some and send them off.

it might be better to build a murphybed and have a deskchair to pull up against the workspace , think a couch will make working at the desk a little cramped , think you have enough height for a murphybed (though it might end up sitting verry low when deployed) , you can use a regulair matrass and put youre bike inside through the reardoor
