it's funny how kids think that starting shit makes them look tough. Everyone generally mellowed out during junior and senior year of high school for me. Maybe the existential dread of trying to figure out what to do after high school cleared up everyone's heads

@DeadMemes NeedToStayDead lol I feel ya man. Just try to surround yourself with friends at any given moment. It makes it harder for people to start shit. Another trick is to purposefully walk in front of teachers and staff so that if someone tries to do something, they get called out right away.

I also think it has to do with the times. For me, growing up in the 90's and 2000's, people fought almost everyday at my schools man, and if there wasn't a fight, there'd at least be word going around that there will be. My schools weren't even in a bad neighborhood or anything but every fight would always. I don't know how kids are these days or if schools are more strict with their policies on fighting but I remember the schools in my area always followed the "let them duke it out to solve their differences" approach, which was a terrible idea that only led to more fighting and more drama.
@ApexGale3 жыл бұрын
because kids growing up see all sorts of media where the tough guy who wins fights is cool. my elementary school was full of literal 11 year olds with exaggerated swagger, and my neighborhood was full of them the easiest way to deal with them was to automatically retaliate if they tried to fuck with you and then leave and never speak with them after that encounter. had to just keep to yourself after that and not talk about it. otherwise they'd see it as a sign of weakness and walk all over you. i think at one point in the 9th grade some dude hit me in the back of the head while I wasn't paying attention during lunch so i got out of my seat and drop kicked him. really stupid and i fucked up the landing and scraped my arm but the guy never fucked with me again. and someone from martial arts club got in between us before it could escalate nobody reasonable has time for fights as they get older. your body becomes less durable as you get older unless you work out constantly, and we can't show up to work with a black eye or we might get fired.

@@theshyboy because when you fight back it leaves a message that even if you lose, you actually were willing to throw hands. many kids don't like to pick fights with people who are eager to fight back. retaliating shows them you aren't an easy target and if they leave the fight with a bloody nose or black eye they're far less likely to try it again, even if they technically won. they're basically looking for the 100-0 MU. as long as you show them the MU is like 70-30 you're the real winner

The fact that fights seemed to be a regular occurrence in schools is so crazy to me. It might be because I really just keep to myself, but the closest things to a fight that I ever saw in school were when I was lying down on the playground and a bully sat on my face and I bit him, and when I had a "fight" with a friend and neither of us actually threw an actual punch. Both of these were in elementary

In my school we would make make-shift weapons (blowguns, mostly. but also small melee weapons) and go to town whenever there wasn't a teacher watching. There were teams. It was literally miniature cold war. There was an arms race. Then the teachers caught wind of it and it migrated to the weekends in the park. Open warfare. Thinking back, it's a fucking miracle no one got seriously hurt.

Man... I remember the only “fight” I was involved in at my high school; There were these two guys called the twins, Ben and Jason. I always did my best to be as neutral as I could but for whatever reason these two dudes *hated* me. So one time in 6th year (which makes us about 16-17 for the Americans) between periods I’m walking across the school yard and I’m running late to my next class, I’m about to get into the building and I hear Ben and Jason shouting at me. I should have just kept moving but I stopped and they started sprinting at me like they were hopped up on that 28 days later shit. To this day I don’t know why they didn’t just rush me at once but they did that one at a time nonsense. They both botched it pretty bad and ended up on the ground but if I’m being honest I was fucking terrified they’d get up so I just grabbed the nearest one and started smacking his head into the ground, really escalating things way past what was acceptable. I didn’t know at the time that a physics teacher had seen it happening, until he ran over and started shouting at me to leave them be, but he did say he wasn’t gonna report me so I suppose that’s a small victory 😅

I've never been involved with a fight at school but one day during freshman year the person who sat next to me first period science (she was a bit older and was held back to freshman level classes, had a bad temper, tattoos etc) walked in through the door, slammed her stuff on the desk, and stormed over to a girl that sat very quietly in the back of the room. She then proceeded to scream at the quiet girl for apparently spreading false rumors about her relationships online. The teacher eventually intervened after and after a lot of screaming the girl wound up and slapped the fuck out of the teacher. All while the quiet girl watched on in silence like a damn super villain. I never saw the first girl again and the seat next to me remained empty the rest of the semester.

@@dylanh.3793 for your information sajam was played on *both* players teams. Not even for the character himself, he might as well been taking a leak while waiting to be called upon. It just shows how powerfull that assist was it was like sajam wasn't even in the fight. As for the devs i agree they did sajams dp dirty after the cereal tier list national showed it was "too strong", it wasn't even that broken only thing that was found "cheese" was the rollback kick and they haven't even patched it out.

Retro even if that were true it doesn’t explain the 4L nerf. Why make average fighter even worse instead of incentivizing people to throw him in the fight? Based on 20/20 hindsight: whenever anybody ever screwed with me in all school ages my immediate reaction should've just been as much violence as I can bring to bear without murdering them given the environment and my strength level. I didn't even get in very many fights nor did I get fucked with very much but the times I did get into fights or got fucked with and tried to avoid getting hurt or having a violent altercation ; I regret just not swinging for the fences immediately to resolve the situation quickly one way or the other. I have 2 brothers, we're all around the same age and we didn't get into fights at school but at home we just scrapped non-stop over everything. I know I was scared to really fight with other kids at school because I was a dumbass kid and couldn't gauge how strong other kids might be compared to my brothers. I discovered way too late that my brothers are fucking r3t4rd strong and I couldve just bodied kids at school if they were messing with me.

Closest I ever got to a fight was some guy I knew from 4th/5th grade challenged me in middle school to fight next to the buses after school, to which I responded, "I don't fight girls" and walked away. Usually the boys would meet up in the bathroom and two kids would go Body, which, for those who don't know what that means, is when two kids just stand face to face and beat the shit out of each other until someone gives up, no face hits allowed. --I saw my friend beat the shit out of a kid for pooring milk in his shoes. --I got into a fight with this mexican kid cause he kept trying to bully me. --I 1v2'd some other mexican kids cause they kept stealing my stuff.
