@@SchoolPrincipalReacts not so fun medical facts: that kid who was thrown over the fence due to her braids likeley could have had her hair torn out and the follicles so badly damaged the poor kid would be almost completely bald. fact 2: even with the grass to act as a cusion the kid would still have had friction burns (think road-rash), possibly torn clothes, and damage to her bone structure. and 3: the chokey was a triple whammy for injuries namely asthma, claustrophobia, and tetanus. it is in fact possible to die of fright and if a kid with claustrophobia/asthma was thrown in and collapsed onto that metal there's a risk of tetanus or worst case scenario the poor kid dies.

There's a metaphor I heard regarding schools from the 1950s, where schools appear like factories, and students would be the "product" to fit into society. It's not really true, but many believed it. Figured this school and Ms. Trunchbull ran on that metaphor, like in Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in The Wall (Part 2)".

Sometimes, we'd refer to them as a principal or "the principal" especially if we don't know their name. That's as far as it goes.

miss trunchbull handing out the random detentions reminds me so much of a headteacher I had in highschool who in his first day expelled about 12 students. since the book was set here in England I think what gets a teacher fired is a lot different cuz I've definitely been grabbed and picked off the ground by a teacher when I was around matilda's age and she defiantly kept her job. I remember being shown one of those ridding crops when I was like 8, just the sound of it hitting a wooden desk is enough to scare a whole class. again in uk schools it wouldn't be unusual for a teacher to leave the class alone for a minute, usually we have a kid watch the door to alert everyone that the teachers coming back while we descend into chaos lmao headmistress is defiantly used alot over here still. all students standing in assembly until being told to sit is fairly normal. again I've experienced the forced eating thing and it certainly didn't result in anyone getting fired.

A boy genius named Malcolm is asked to tutor his older brother, Reese, so he can pass one of his classes. But no matter how hard Reese tries, even if he’s doing better, he keeps failing his tests. Then Malcolm later finds out that his teacher is purposely failing Reese out of bias for his reputation as a bully, as the teacher was a victim of bullying himself as a kid.

I think she just saw a little kid and wanted to help her pick out some cute children books with a story and illustrations in them. Maybe the line should have been "Would you like for me to help you pick out a nice fairytale or a book with lots of adventure?" Also, that's a really beautiful looking library. The libraries I live don't have that old fashioned charm to them. They're nice, but not really elegant looking or have dark wood floors like in that library.

My younger sisters teacher treated her kind of rudely purely because our older brother dated her daughter and they broke up.

You should take a look at the anime "Prison School" no spoilers here but it makes what Trunchbul is doing look tame.

Maaaaan, I can tell you getting paddled in a private school was NOT fun what so ever, I remember some of us kids use to put toilet paper on our butts to try to lighten the blow and it sort of didn't work. The vice principal was the worst, because she swung hard on preteens and teenagers. Man, I'm glad I got over it and left after four years in their middle school system. Awwww the pain.

I’ve heard of kids trying to wear multiple pants too. Oddly enough a lot of parents ask for it (in places where its legal) because its instant as opposed to in school or out of school suspension.

Matilda is a great movie! Trunchbull deserves, not potential firings, but definite jail time! On to part two now! Cheers!

God, I love this movie! Also I know this would probably…never, ever happen due to the movie’s age rating, but if it ever is possible, Election (1999) is hilarious and it’d be wild to see your reaction to that-just a thought that will probably never come to fruition 😅 either way, Love the reactions, keep up the good work!

The principal lady is just that type of woman neighbors would avoid. We all have that neigubor that's like her and looks like her.

He should definitely react to School Of Rock, as Miranda Cosgrove (Carly from iCarly) is in that movie, and of course, the main man Jack Black himself

I enjoyed this movie, oh and just wait until this one part later on at Trunchbull's house. Won't say too much but it's when you get to see who and what she really is! Expect the potential firings to go up, also I remember my dad joking about putting me in the chokey some times before. 😆

This is definitely a movie to react to as a principal as yourself to know principles like Ms. Trunchbull

I am amused you paused the playback to talk about potential firings without realizing it cut to the window for a reason. The wild thing is she's actually nicer here than in the book.

Great reaction. Glad you are enjoying this movie so far. Mrs. Trunchbull and miss honey are both full of great things to discuss as you can tell. Also i went to a private school and yes headmistress is a term for a headmaster who is a woman.

I’ve often heard people comparing themselves to Trunchbull when it comes to their attitudes towards kids, even teachers. I always say that if they say that, they should never be hired. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, but if in some fairy tale universe I was a principal (kudos to you cause I could never do your job) and if I ever decided to interview a potential teacher in my school and they ever compared themselves to Trunchbull, I would never hire them.

If Matilda is six in the movie, she would most likely be in kindergarten or 1st grade. According to online, she is in the 1st grade.

So far I am loving your reaction to this movie (okay not the whole movie since I see that you focus is on school/education). Without spoiling too much, I think you will enjoy it since this is based on the Roald Dahl novel. I must point out those "spears" in Trunchbull's office, I think they are called javelins as in the olympic sport of javelin throw, but regardless olympic sport or not, they would STILL be considered as weapons, unless an elementary school would use that for Phys Ed, you're right about one thing, javelins should never be allowed in an office or any school room. Try not to skip out on the rest of the film, because Trunchbull would set a record of "Potential Firings". Hope you enjoy the film!

19:49 Is the not leaving students alone and needing another school official to watch over your class requirement based on grade level? I can see why it might not be acceptable to leave elementary schoolers alone for a moment, but seems like it’d be okay with high schoolers. I think I remember it happening occasionally in high school.
@SchoolPrincipalReacts2 ай бұрын
You really can’t do this. I know a lot of high school students who would definitely take advantage of that. 😂

the UK do not condone corporal punishment anymore, i don't know if they did at the time Roald Dahl wrote this...i read a fair number of his books and saw a few film or TV convertions as well (including Matilda which is arguably one of the most famous). Matilda was set in England (or at least the book was i can't remember if the film is, i forget) but none the less corporal punishment was a massive theme as was incorrect parenting.
@Satankat666Ай бұрын
@@IDyce88 it looks like the book was written around the time that corporal punishment was banned in state schools (but not private schools).
